France 41-17 Australia: World Cup hosts ignore Eddie Jones’ Wallabies in Paris
France completed its preparations to host the Rugby World Cup with a convincing 41-17 win against Australia in Paris.
A Damian Penaud brace was added by tries from Jonathan Danty and Gabin Villiere that put the home side on their way to victory, with Thomas Ramos adding 21 points from the tee.
Mark Nawaqanitawase, Fraser McReight and Suliasi Vunivalu landed for the Wallabies, but a yellow card for Vunivalu early in the second half proved costly.
France will kick off its World Cup campaign when it hosts New Zealand in the opening game of the tournament on September 8.
