Foyle’s War star Honeysuckle Weeks accuses Jerry Hall’s niece of being her late husband’s mistress

Blessed with poise and presence, she won both praise and admiration for her portrayal of Samantha ‘Sam’ Stewart in Foyle’s War, appearing in every episode of Anthony Horowitz’s award-winning ITV series, but her stellar career faltered when her turbulent marriage fell apart . .

But after divorcing her husband, raffish grande Lorne Stormmonth Darling, and an 18-month stint as a dishwasher – in her words “a lesson in humility” – Honeysuckle Weeks triumphantly resurfaced last year, shedding all inhibitions and clothes . stage in a musical version of Calendar Girls.

Suitably renewed, the vibrant 45-year-old actress is now apparently ready for battle again… a very personal battle, it seems. She has been taken to social media to name the woman who, she claims, was her husband’s mistress.

This is made all the more startling by what follows, as the woman in question – claims Weeks – is none other than Daphne Hall, niece of legendary Texan model Jerry Hall and daughter of Jerry’s late, equally glamorous sister Rosy Hall, who, like a 19-year-old, was one of the original cheerleaders for the Dallas Cowboys.

Weeks, who married Stormonth Darling in 2007, recalls how she was once invited to a barbecue by Jerry, but the invitation was withdrawn. “Her cousin Daphne forbade me to go,” she claims, adding bluntly, “Daphne was my husband’s mistress.”

It’s easy to see why Daphne would turn a man’s head. She has the same long-limbed beauty as her mother and aunt, and is not bound by convention. The father of her children, from whom she is now estranged, is Roc Sandford, who divides his time between London and his own private island in the Hebrides, Gometra.

Roc, son of the old Etonian filmmaker Jeremy Sandford, whose last property was a Jacobean pile in Herefordshire that encouraged naked meditation and dervish dancing, is a keen eco-warrior.

This includes two of his children by Daphne: his son Lachlan Blaze, known as ‘Lazer’, and his daughter Isla Bluebell, known as ‘Blue’, although sometimes described as the British Greta Thunberg.

Their campaigns included a 2021 attempt to thwart the construction of the HS2 high-speed line by living 4.5 meters underground in a tunnel they dug near London’s Euston station, where they spent weeks resisting eviction by the contractors’ bailiffs.

By then, their mother’s would-be lover, Stormmonth-Darling, had only two years to live, though they had no way of knowing.

Honeysuckle had marked her split from Lorne in 2019 by posting a striking image on social media: a sign with the initials L&H, next to pink hearts burning on a bonfire, with the caption: ‘Bye wedding’.

Storm month Darling died last year at the age of 60. His father, Robin, had been a prominent chairman of the City brokerage firm and lived at the opposite end of the spectrum of life on Gometra, where Daphne and Roc had raised Lazer and Blue without cars, electricity or hot water.

On the other hand, the Stormmonth Darlings own Balvarran, a 2,500-acre estate in Perthshire. Perhaps Daphne and her children hoped it would become a New Age haven of the kind that Blue and Lazer’s grandfather had established in Herefordshire, with the added bonus of tactical training for eco-warriors.

Daphne could not be reached for comment. But she is certainly on her way: her house in north-west London – bought in 2010 for £715,000 by what appears to be a family trust, which includes her Aunt Jerry – is for sale.

Neighbors say it has been empty for weeks. Another property on the same street is for sale for £1.7 million – enough to buy new tunnel equipment, just in case Honeysuckle walks away with something stronger than an online post…
