Fox News anchor Bret Baier reveals the ‘rumor’ about why Biden REALLY dropped out of the race… who’s taking over in the White House… and issues an ultimatum to his critics

Fox News chief political anchor Bret Baier believes the White House owes his network an apology.

But he won’t hold his breath.

In an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com, the presenter and editor-in-chief of Special Report with Bret Baier responded to Democratic Party critics who attempted to undermine his reporting on President Joe Biden’s disturbing public incidents.

Baier isn’t ready to declare that the White House covered up the president’s true condition, but he isn’t ruling it out, and he’s certainly not done investigating who knew what and when.

‘There was clearly an attempt to prevent some of what they knew [about Biden’s health] “To get out of it,” Baier told the Mail. “We’re going to find out there’s a lot more going on… What has [Biden] from being adamant that he would be nominated to writing a letter saying he would resign? What was that? What was the revelation that took place?’

In an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com, the host and editor-in-chief of Special Report with Bret Baier slammed Democratic critics who have attempted to undermine his reporting on President Joe Biden’s disturbing public incidents.

Most explosive of all was Baier's question of who is really in charge in the White House now, as Biden seemingly hands more influence and power to his vice president.

Most explosive of all was Baier’s question of who is really in charge in the White House now, as Biden seemingly hands more influence and power to his vice president.

Baier indicated he has heard potentially explosive “rumors” that former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi threatened to release polls that undermined Biden’s case for staying in the race.

He also said that President Obama allegedly used his influence behind the scenes to push Biden off the political stage.

In our interview, Baier also questioned who is really in charge in the White House now, as Biden seemingly hands more influence and power to his vice president.

‘Now that Kamala Harris will be meeting separately with foreign leaders, as we saw with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, [last week] and by holding her own press conferences,” Baier said, “we have a situation where President Biden is out of the spotlight and in effect we can have a co-presidency.”

In the 16 years that he has been an anchor Special ReportBaier took over from his friend and mentor, the legendary Briton Hume, at the FNC, saying he had never seen such a “crazy” and “consequential” period in American politics.

And, he made clear, the story is far from over.

In the days and weeks before Biden shocked the country by appearing weak and confused on a debate stage with Donald Trump, Baier and his colleagues at FOX News Channel (FNC) were accused of distributing manipulated videos or “cheap fakes” of the president.

According to Baier, it is an accusation that must now be dismissed as downright absurd.

“This was not a video that we were editing,” he said. “This was a video that showed President Biden being led off the stage by former President Obama. [at a June 15 fundraiser in Los Angeles]. It was there for the viewers to see.’

The live broadcast of Biden's decision to end his re-election campaign on FOX News Channel was the most-watched program on television, while cable news networks were slow to report the shocking developments.

Yet many people in the mainstream media seemed to go along with the spin.

‘Other channels deliberately jumped on that [White House] “He said he was talking to people who didn’t understand it, that it was all made up and that President Biden was outdoing his staff and outdoing everyone.”

Only after Hollywood star and Democratic mega-fundraiser George Clooney, a friend of Obama, wrote an op-ed in the New York Times on July 10 revealing what he saw behind the scenes at the fundraiser did the reality become apparent no longer.

Clooney wrote: ‘It’s heartbreaking to say, but the Joe Biden I was at the fundraiser with three weeks ago was not the Joe “big F-ing deal” Biden of 2010. He wasn’t even the Joe Biden of 2020.’

‘When [Clooney’s] article came out, there was no one in the White House or the Biden campaign reaching out [to FNC] and said, ‘You were right. These were not cheap knockoffs. This was not made up,'” Baier said.

That’s why viewers — Republicans, Democrats and independents — come to FNC for the whole story, he added.

According to him, that is also the reason why FNC is experiencing a huge increase in viewership, comparable to the viewership the channel achieved during the 2020 presidential elections.

During the week of July 15-21, which included the assassination attempt on Donald Trump, the Republican Party convention and Biden’s decision to withdraw from the 2024 race, more viewers watched FNC during prime time (between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m.) than any other broadcast or cable news channel.

And FNC’s coverage of the final night of the RNC broke the record for most-watched convention ever.

The other factor influencing these historic ratings, Baier said, is the speed and quality of FNC’s programming.

“It’s a compliment to the people we have here. We’ve been here before at big events,” he said. “We can respond and create a show out of nothing.”

Baier and his team were tasked with doing just that.

Baier was changing out of his golf gear after competing in the annual American Century Celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe, California, on July 13 when he received a news report that Trump had narrowly survived an attempt on his life at a rally in rural Pennsylvania.

Within moments, he was on the phone with sources close to the former president.

Minutes later, he spoke to millions of viewers via phone with FNC anchors Shannon Bream and Bill Hemmer, who were providing breaking news coverage.

He wasn’t even out of the locker room. That night he was on a plane to Milwaukee, arriving a day early for the RNC.

A week later, when Biden suddenly announced via Twitter that he would step down as the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, Baier was on his way to pick up one of his two sons near their home in Washington, DC.

“The first thing I think about is, this is going to be a huge story,” he said. “The second thing I think about is, I need to get someone to pick up my son.”

Baier went home to pick up a suit and then went straight to FNC’s studio on Capitol Hill.

The live broadcast of Biden’s decision to end his re-election campaign on FOX News Channel was the most-watched program on television, while cable news networks were slow to report the shocking developments.

Baier now believes it is vital to find out why the president, after weeks of resistance and promises from Biden’s inner circle that he would stay in the 2024 race, suddenly decided to end his political career.

The White House says there are no problems [with the president] and he’s still A-OK. Yet he dropped out of a race he said he would never resign from. And there are still questions about whether he’ll go the distance for the remaining five months of the presidency,” Baier said.

“Anything is possible now,” he added. “I don’t feel like the 25th Amendment is going to be in effect anytime soon. But that doesn’t mean there’s not a major health incident that changes that dynamic. It’s day-to-day.”

That means there will likely be many more shows broadcast from strange locations and the veteran presenter’s plans will suddenly change.

It’s something he seems to enjoy.

“It’s a fascinating time in politics. I can’t predict what’s going to happen, but I can predict that people are going to tune in,” he said.
