Fox News analyst and self-declared hater of woke Gianno Caldwell was asked to leave Miami restaurant

A Fox News political commentator was asked to leave a North Miami bookstore and restaurant while discussing politics with friends.

Gianno Caldwell had been eating with a group of people at Paradis Books and Bread and was later asked to leave the premises.

‘I can’t believe what just happened. I met friends for breakfast at Paradis Books and Bread in North Miami and while we were discussing politics, the owner told us that we are not welcome there because we are not politically aligned. Scandalous,’ he explained in an initial tweet.

‘No matter your politics, you should not be discriminated against. I was discriminated against for being conservative and told to leave a restaurant in North Miami because my politics did not ‘align’ with the owner. This is NOT okay,’ he stated in a follow-up post.

Caldwell has said that the incident was a clear case of discrimination and that the bookstore’s actions were promoting a kind of political segregation reminiscent of the Jim Crow South.

‘In 1963, Dr. Martin Luther King said: ‘Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.’ My experience at Paradis Books and Bread in North Miami is a clear case of discrimination that should not be tolerated in Florida or anywhere else in the United States,” Caldwell told NBC6.

‘Whether liberal or conservative, no one should ever be asked to leave a place of business for engaging in political conversation in respectful dialogue. Paradis is promoting a kind of political segregation that goes back to the Jim Crow South days and goes against the restaurant’s harm reduction policy.”

The bookstore, owned by five friends, Brian Wright, Bianca Sanon, Sef Chesson, Ben Yen and Audrey Wright, opened in December 2021.

She has since closed her doors and posted on Instagram that they were starting their winter break early due to the incident.

The bookstore stated that the group’s behavior and language made other customers and staff uncomfortable and that they upheld their “zero tolerance” policy.

Social media users were not impressed by the restaurant’s antics.

“Free speech seems to have become a subjective issue,” wrote Glenn D Stewart.

‘I just saw this. I am shocked. Florida is supposed to be a conservative state. Sue sue sue! Linda tweeted.

‘Slippery slope when companies invade the privacy of your conversation and feel bad about your free speech and kick you out. Remember the pendulum swings both ways and this country is heading towards political and racial segregation,” Lashaun Turner posted.

‘Time to introduce some Atifa-like tactics to the patrons of that restaurant and maybe it’s time to get it inspected for ADA compliance…and to a large extent a discrimination lawsuit is certainly in order. Owner needs to move to Seattle / there’s no place in Florida for her.’

The restaurant took the time to explain its side of the story before finally suspending its social media accounts entirely.

“Today we experienced an incident in our space and we feel it is important to re-share our safer spaces policy that we have instituted from the beginning.

‘A group of people came in, ordered their food, sat in the inner corner and talked quite loudly for over an hour. Much of what they were discussing was very troubling, specifically when they spoke of women in demeaning ways, as well as when they used eugenic arguments around their thoughts on Roe v. Wade. his behavior and words made other people in the space as well as one of us working very uncomfortable.

“Once it was clear they were done eating, we told them that our points of view did not agree and that the language they were using was not welcome in our space. one person in the group said “that’s their business model, and I respect that.” As a space co-owned by blacks and women, we stand firmly by our zero tolerance policy.”

“What’s even crazier to me is that I spent a huge chunk of time talking about getting justice for my brother and victims of violent crime in America and then being discriminated against by this white lady in 2023 because I’m a conservative is unfathomable.” Caldwell tweeted. later on Monday.

His younger brother, 18-year-old Christian, was shot to death in Chicago last June.

Caldwell, who has nine siblings, has appeared on Fox since 2017.

He has described his upbringing in Chicago as “very, very poor.”

His mother was addicted to crack and had to go to rehab. It meant that all of her siblings were in the custody of her grandmother.
