Fox anchor suggests Trump’s possible arrest is being timed to distract from probe into Biden

Fox News anchor Maria Bartiromo suggested that Trump’s possible indictment over hush money payments to porn star Stormy Daniels may be part of a plot to divert attention from recent revelations about Joe Biden’s questionable family finances.

Speaking on Sunday Morning Futures with former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe, Bartiromo said it was “disturbing” that news of Trump’s impeachment came out just days after a congressional committee released documents that appeared to indicate that members of Biden’s family had paid more than $1 million. by the Chinese government.

Released by House Republicans on Thursday, the report showed that the president’s son, Hunter Biden, his son Beau Biden’s widow, and other members of the president’s family received the money in 2017 from an associate who entered into a business deal with a Chinese energy company.

Just two days later, Trump wrote to Truth Social that he had received information indicating that the Manhattan district attorney’s office planned to arrest him this Tuesday.

Speaking to Bartriromo, Ratcliffe said this timing was no coincidence. James Comer, chairman of the House Oversight Committee, which led the investigation into the Biden family’s finances, also appeared on the show and said the timing was suspicious.

After discussing Biden’s foreign policy record with Ratcliffe, Bartiromo asked him if she thought the timing of news of Trump’s impeachment was a coincidence.

“This is so incredibly disturbing, do you think it’s a coincidence that as soon as James Comer comes out and reveals those bank records, Trump is suddenly indicted?” she said.

“You just talked about Joe Biden’s soft approach to China, we’re constantly asking, why, why not protect America? Is it a coincidence that Trump is being charged on Tuesday after these bank details were revealed last week?

Ratcliffe said he did not believe in coincidences and hoped the investigation into Biden would not be deterred.

“I don’t really believe in coincidence, so I do think what Congressman Comer does is important, and it’s a way for the American people to really find out what’s going on. And I hope that effort continues, and I think it will.”

Comer himself joined the conversation and said the timing raised eyebrows.

“It is very strange that this would come out the next day after I disclosed bank records showing that the Biden family, especially the president, has not been honest with his family receiving parents directly from the Chinese Communist Party, ‘ ‘ he said.

“So it almost seems like it’s an attempt to distract, but at least it’s another example of a two-tiered justice system.”

President Biden pushed back a Republican report on Friday, flatly denying its accuracy.

“That’s not true,” he said when asked as he left the White House to spend the weekend at his home in Wilmington, Delaware.

The findings were part of an investigation by the House GOP into Hunter Biden’s business dealings and how the presidential son made his living amid allegations that he used his father’s position for personal gain.

The House Oversight Committee obtained more than a decade of banking records through subpoenas while investigating the Biden family.

They targeted Hunter Biden’s associate John R. Walker for questioning after years of digging through his bank records and discovering a $35,000 payment to Hallie Biden, Beau Biden’s widow.

The GOP findings stated that Walker received a $3 million wire transfer from Chinese State Energy HK Limited, a company affiliated with CEFC China Energy, and then distributed $1.3 million to accounts related to Biden’s family members.

Hunter Biden and Joe’s brother Jim were the others who got a share of the money.

Comer wrote to Walker that the panel is “investigating President Biden’s involvement in his family’s business practices” and “has identified you as a critical witness in this case and reviewed evidence showing that you received millions of dollars from a Chinese energy company and elsewhere’.
