Police said multiple juvenile victims came forward claiming McCommon first connected with them on social media and began playing video games with some of them.

The inappropriate behavior escalated when she allegedly sent them racy photos and asked to have sex with them.

Officials said that during their investigation, McCommon admitted to speaking to the former students in an appropriate manner.

Many parents were shocked to hear about the teacher’s sick behavior, and some were outraged to learn about it in a Facebook post two weeks later.

Some are considering homeschooling their children because of their broken trust in the school district, and are looking to the Tipton School Board for answers.

Bianca Taylor told it Fox13 Memphis that when her son came home from school, she asked him if his teacher had been to school lately.

She said her son told her there was a substitute teacher because the school said the teacher was home sick.

“I really hope they take things seriously because in any other situation. If it was a guy who did it the other way around, you guys would take it more seriously,” Taylor said. “Even if she did or didn’t do it, it should be looked at and not swept under the rug.”

Investigators say so far none of the alleged sex acts have taken place on school grounds.

The police chief called the ordeal “unbearable” and said resources are being provided to the victims.

“It is unspeakable and 100 percent preventable. I think that’s why the detectives and we are so passionate about making sure the victims are okay,” Chief Turner said.

McCommon’s attorney, Jere Mason, said his client maintains her innocence.

“We believe it’s a social media witch hunt and that’s frustrating for us,” Mason said.

“What we ask is that the public be patient and allow the justice system to do its work and not create further persecution against the alleged victims or the suspect’s family.”

Tipton County Schools said McCommon also worked at CrestView Elementary School. Police continue to interview witnesses and search for more victims in the case.

They said the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected. McCommon is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on October 13.
