A four-year-old girl has tragically lost her life after what was supposed to be a playful game went horribly wrong.
Mi’layah Marie was jumping up and down on a bed near an open window in her apartment in Shoreline, Washington state, when she lost her balance.
The girl’s mother, Najaha Chancellor, explained how she had been watching her four children alone last Sunday when one of the children opened her bedroom window.
Mi’layah was jumping on the bed when she fell against the screen covering the window and it gave way.

The girl’s mother, Najaha Chancellor, explained how she had been watching her four children alone last Sunday when one of the children opened her bedroom window.
A Good Samaritan attempted to revive the child until first responders arrived, but the little girl was too badly injured and died from her injuries after being taken to the hospital.
“I walked around the back after I heard someone screaming,” said Andre Alexander, a witness KIRO. “When I went back there, I saw the young lady, the little girl had fallen out of the window.
‘There is a young man who is a real hero. This young man performed CPR himself for over four and a half minutes,” Alexander added.
The medical examiner ruled that the girl died of blunt force trauma caused by the fall.
‘She has a beautiful soul. And I’m just never, none of us are going to get that back,” mother Najaha Chancellor said KIRO.

“She crashed into it, the screen fell off and she fell down,” Chancellor said. ‘I completely lost it.
‘As a mother it is your job. It is your job to protect your children at all costs.
“I’m just trying to keep it together, like any mother would try. I have three other children that I have to show that I have to be strong for. Crying will therefore make children even more emotional.
‘I’ll never get over this, because it’s different when it’s your child you lose. It’s definitely different.’
The Chancellor described her daughter as particularly outgoing and expressive, not to mention caring.
‘She just made everyone happy, it didn’t matter who it was. Everyone just loved her and cared about her,” Chancellor said.

‘She loved the simple things in life, like her favorite fruit, bananas and her love of water. Swimming was one of her greatest joys; she loved splashing around and enjoying the freedom the water gave her. Mi’layah was smart, playful and beautiful, and her memory will forever be part of our family,” her mother wrote in a tribute.
Writing on Facebook, Chanellor shared her sadness in an online post.
“I love you Mi’layah Marie, one of a kind, you were my world, baby. I’m still so speechless right now. I can’t find the words to gather and say. Almost a week without food, hardly any rest. I wake up at the same time. every day and I’m back up all day. I wish back in time was a thing,” Chanellor wrote.
The family has one GoFundMe to help pay for funeral expenses.
