Four-year-old boy overdoses on fentanyl on his birthday as dad with Batman logo tattooed on his forehead and orange-haired mom are charged with child endangerment

The parents of a four-year-old boy who overdosed on fentanyl on his birthday have been charged.
Denard Bisschop, 39, and Alexis Scarborough, 34, is charged with child endangerment after their son was found gasping for air during a nap at his father’s home in Golf Manor on Nov. 25.
He was rushed to Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center after the incident.
The boy was found with “agonal breathing,” according to court documents obtained by Fox19 Now. The potentially fatal condition occurs when a person does not get enough oxygen.

The incident took place on November 25 at Bishop’s Golf Manor home, where Scarborough (pictured) was visiting
His mother was arrested immediately afterwards, while Bishop remained at large for two days. Both were eventually arrested and taken into custody.
Scarborough pleaded not guilty to child endangerment during a hearing Wednesday.
A judge has rejected a request from her lawyers to release her on her own recognizance so she could keep her job as a hotel housekeeper.
Her bond was set at $10,000 and she was ordered to have no contact with her children unless given permission.
Bishop must appear in court for the first time on Friday.
“Thankfully, hopefully, this child is going to be okay,” Tom Synan, co-chair of the Hamilton County Addiction Response Coalition, told Fox19 Now.
Lawyers for the mother asked for her release on her own recognizance so she could keep her job, but this was denied by a judge who set her bond at $10,000.

‘Luckily they received medical help. It’s something that you can reverse in some cases.
“And hopefully there’s no further impact and the child and everyone involved in this incident learns from it and is able to take those precautions and get the help and the resources that they need so that they don’t use drugs again .’
According to the most recent statistics from the Ohio Department of Health, there were 4,915 unintentional drug overdose deaths in 2022.
Of these, 81 percent involved fentanyl – often in combination with other medications.
