Four people have been rescued after being trapped on a ride 10metres in the air due to a ‘guest behaviour incident’ at Movie World.
The riders became trapped within the Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster attraction at the Gold Coast theme park at about 4pm on Sunday.
‘Late this afternoon the Scooby Doo-ride’s safety system was engaged following a minor guest behaviour incident which resulted in a ride stoppage in the high zone,’ a Movie World spokesman told Daily Mail Australia.
Because of the high location of the stoppage, Movie World called the Queensland Fire & Emergency Services (QFES) to handle the rescue.

‘The guests on board were completely safe throughout the process and our expert team were in constant communication with them,’ the spokesman said.
The four riders were safely unloaded by QFES.
Movie World said the safety and wellbeing of its guests is its ‘highest priority and our team conduct regular training with QFES on these scenarios’.
Nobody was injured in the incident, with Queensland Ambulance Service saying paramedics were not called to the scene.
In April, a child suffered serious injuries after hitting his head on the Looney Tunes Carousel ride at Movie World.
Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster is an enclosed roller coaster.
It’s based on the 2002 live action film Scooby-Doo, which was filmed at the studio beside the park at the same time the ride was being constructed.
In 2018 the ride underwent a significant theming overhaul and reopened in December under the name Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster: Next Generation with a new ride storyline and new special effects.
