Four people are still missing and two injured after a New Jersey home exploded Thursday morning, officials have said.
The explosion destroyed the home in Buena Borough, and officials are now treating the incident as a criminal case, Franklin Township Police Chief Matthew DeCesari said.
The two injured have been described as a woman in her twenties or thirties and a small child.
The child was reportedly taken to a burn center in Pennsylvania.
Witnesses reported hearing a shocking explosion before the single-family home was reduced to ashes.

“We’re erring on the side of caution, just in case it is — we can’t back down,” DeCesari told ABC 6.
“So at this point, we’re going to treat it like a criminal investigation until we determine whether or not it is.”
Video of the aftermath shows that a pile of rubble is all that is left of the house.
The missing persons have not yet been identified by the police.
Several other homes sustained damage from the explosion and fire.
It comes one day after a fire destroyed another home in New Jersey.
Jennifer Wright, 39, Alaina Wright, 34, and her four-month-old baby River, and niece Angel Allan, 14, died in the devastating blaze while 67-year-old grandmother Brenda Wright was injured.

The fire broke out around 12:30 p.m. at a property in Lacey Township that was home to a family of nine, spanning three generations. Firefighters tried to save them, but the roof collapsed and the crew had to evacuate.
Startled neighbors described their screams and ran to the house to help them out of harm’s way.
Relatives took to social media to pay emotional tribute to the victims, saying they were “tragically taken from us far too soon.”
John Milligan has set up a GoFundMe page on behalf of his niece Angel to raise money for the family’s funeral expenses, housing and clothing.
Angel was home when the house caught fire. Angel was tragically trapped in the house along with her Aunt Alaina, Aunt Jen and baby River and couldn’t get out,” he wrote.
“The house was destroyed during this event. Not only were their homes and possessions taken from them, but the most beautiful, intelligent, loving, and most artistic daughter and sister were also taken from them.
Angel is survived by her loving mother Melanie, younger sister Hailey and older brother Max. As part of their loving family, we want to make this tragic experience as painless as possible for them.”
Local and government investigators determined that the fire started on the porch and that “improperly disposed of smoking material cannot be ruled out as the cause of the fire.”
