Four Las Vegas teenagers charged with beating death of Jonathan Lewis Jr. appear in court as they’re charged with second degree murder

Four of nine Las Vegas teens arrested for beating 17-year-old Jonathan Lewis Jr. to death appeared in court this morning charged with murder.

Dontral Beaver, 16, Damien Hernandez, 17, Gianni Robinson, 17, and Treavion Randolph, 16, are all accused of beating Lewis to death on Nov. 1 outside Rancho High School. He died six days later in hospital after brain injuries.

Today, the four were formally charged as adults, despite all being minors. They were remanded to custody pending their next court appearance.

Another five teenagers have been arrested but not yet charged.

The brutal beating was caught on camera and went viral on TikTok. Police relied on the video to identify many of the suspects.

However, Treavion’s family tells DailyMail.com that he is nowhere to be seen in the footage.

Lewis Jr., 17, had agreed to fight outside the school to settle an argument over a stolen vape and wireless headphones.

The footage showed him being fatally tied up and cowering for his life on the ground. His family started a GoFundMe page that has now raised more than $130,000.

Today, prosecutors said in court that they are charging the teens with first-degree murder instead of premeditated murder because they could not prove premeditation, but that they are continuing to review the evidence.

Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson said of Lewis’ family, “That family was shattered, and all the other families and their lives were shattered as well.”

“So it’s a sad day that all this happened. But at the end of the day, I think there should be consequences.”

Treavion’s step-grandmother Andrea Corsey, 55, said his family has been left devastated by Lewis’s death and the 16-year-old’s arrest.

Andrea, who is married to Treavion’s grandfather Lovell Randolph Sr, 54, said: ‘Everyone is devastated at what they say he did.

‘I can not understand. He’s never had any problems. He comes here for birthdays and holidays. It’s a very sad situation.’

Treavion’s uncle, who asked not to be named, added: “I saw that video. I’ve watched it all. You can’t see Treavion there.

“They say they identified him on that video, but we’re not sure. We weren’t told much. We don’t know much about the whole thing.’

Andrea added: “We’ve all been looking for him [in the video] because, as you can see, he has a huge amount of hair.

“So when you don’t see that, you’re like, how did they identify him specifically? It’s very difficult to say.’
