An 11-year-old South Carolina boy was chased and bitten nearly 60 times by a pack of mixed-breed dogs as he walked to school.

A’Rhyan Anderson was attacked by four dogs on North Livingston Street in Clinton on February 14 at 7:40 am.

Anderson suffered serious injuries and was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital for treatment, according to Clinton police.

His mother, Amy Lowe, later said he underwent surgery and is now stable.

‘It’s traumatizing. I am traumatized. I’m sure my son is traumatized.

‘He has had a long road to recovery. He was bitten more than 60 times. There is no muscle. They ate all the muscle out of his left leg,” Lowe said VOS8.

Anderson was saved from apparent death thanks to the quick action of one of the family’s neighbors, who also witnessed the entire attack.

Natasha Sims said she saw the dogs around Anderson and quickly called 911 while trying to get the dogs away from the child.

‘When I arrived, I saw his body. They literally ate him. The dogs really looked like they had eaten him alive.

‘At that moment I didn’t know if he was dead or alive. I saw nothing but bones. I saw it was really eaten,” Mims said.

When officers arrived on the scene, the dogs had already run away.
