The bodies of four people believed to be from the same family have been found dead in a West London flat.

Police were called at 3.12pm yesterday due to concerns over the well-being of residents of a house on Staines Road in Bedfont, Hounslow.

When officers entered the house a short time later, they found the bodies of a man and a woman in their 30s, an 11-year-old girl and a three-year-old boy.

The Metropolitan Police said they believe they know the identities of all four people, who are believed to be related, but An investigation is being conducted into the formal identification and informing next of kin.

The Met’s investigation is led by Specialist Crime homicide detectives, who continue the investigation.

Chief Superintendent Sean Wilson, local police officer in west London, said: ‘Our investigation is at a very early stage and based on our initial enquiries, we are not currently seeking anyone else in connection with the incident.

“I know the shock and suffering this terrible incident will cause to the community in Hounslow and beyond.

“I can assure the local population that specialized agents are working to determine exactly what happened and I will provide more information as soon as possible.

“I am also aware that this incident will be particularly shocking to children, and I am asking people to please be responsible for what they post on social media, including not naming or speculating on the names of those who have died .

“Additional police officers will be in the area throughout the weekend. I urge anyone with information or concerns to speak to those officers.”
