Foster mom says ‘hundreds’ of New Yorkers are trying to adopt Bob – the dog no one wanted

>

The foster mother of a lonely dog, Bob, who didn’t want anyone at an adoption event in New York City, said “hundreds” are filing for adoption after a video of him went viral.

Julie Zeilinger took to social media to express her joy at hearing how many people are interested in adopting Bob Parr — the name the shelter gave him — after a video of him went viral on TikTok.

“It’s so nice that so many people care about Bob,” she wrote on her Instagram story. “Literally hundreds are reaching out to adopt him because of this video…”

Julie, who already has a permanent dog Baloo, also encourages others to look at other puppies available through the Brooklyn Animal Rescue.

“He’s a dog that is lovingly cared for, while millions need homes.”

Bob went viral this weekend as thousands of users sympathized with the pup being ignored by the crowd.

The video, posted by Andrea Caceres, an illustrator who goes by PetArtByAndrea on TikTok, captioned the post with a sad face emoji and a message to his future family: “He’s the sweetest puppy.”

DailyMail.com spoke to Bob’s foster mother, Julie Zeilinger, on Monday, who said some people have come to him to contact him but it was difficult because he is very shy. Julie said Bob has been with them for about four months now and that “it took him a while to get used to us.”

She thinks the reason he wasn’t so popular among those in attendance was because he was scared because it was his first time at an event like that.

“He was very overwhelmed, and I think people sensed that and wanted to give him space,” Julie said, but added that whoever adopts him will be in for a treat.

“He’s an incredibly sweet dog who just wants to love and be loved,” she said.

“Awww my poor heart can’t take it. The way he looks around like ‘what about me’ wrote another commenter.

Bob became so popular with his first viral TikTok that Caceres posted a follow-up video with more information about the dog.

More Bob content! He often struggles to stay awake and has the cutest little bum when he’s feeling frisky. He was not allowed to get his heart rate up during medical treatment for 2 months so he has clearly spent a lot of time on our couch. He has many applications now thanks to @petartbyandrea, but you can apply here! https://badassanimalrescue.com/adoption-application
