Fortnite’s Slurp Juice drop rates have received a major nerf, dividing players
Recent balance sheet adjustments have been implemented Fortnite have significantly changed Slurp Juice’s drop rate, and the player base is divided on whether it’s a positive change or not.
Announced in a tweet by the official Fortnite Status Account On Wednesday (September 20), it was confirmed that the game’s latest hotfix changed the damage and fire rate of a number of weapons, but most importantly: “Slurp Juice drops with less quantity, puff wisely!”

For those unfamiliar, Slurp Juice is a rare consumable healing item that can continuously heal both health and shield points for 20 seconds. Given its long duration, it can completely heal even the most battle-damaged players, and it can be especially useful in the middle of a fight, as you can continue to heal even while you’re in the middle of shooting. Needless to say, it is very useful, and a highly sought after item in any match.
Currently, players can obtain Slurp Juice from Combat Caches, Forecast Tower boss NPCs, and the Capture Point on Loot Island. Previously, each of these methods yielded two Slurp Juices per player – this adjusted in relation to the game mode, so that in Duos, for example, two stacks of two Slurp Juices were removed from each of these sources.
Now, however, that has changed. According to Twitter account FNAssist, drop rates have been completely halved for Solo, Duos, Trios, and Squads. Reactions to this information varied enormously.
Some think the rebalance is necessary: “W change, I love the Slurps but (they definitely) needed a nerf on spawn rate,” said one player wrote. “To be honest (,) quite honest. Hard to fight a man wearing four,’ tweeted another.
Others, meanwhile, are heartbroken: “NOOOOO WHY WOULD YOU NERF SLURP JUICE NOOOOOO,” one player in despair. “This is a tragic day for all Fortniters,” added another.
