Fortnite’s Family Guy saga may finally be coming to an end
After years of rumors, speculation and seasonal disappointments, Family man's Peter Griffin may finally be coming to Fortnite with Chapter 5 Season 1. An unconfirmed leaked image of the battle royale game's next season shows a (buff) Peter Griffin standing next to Fortnite's usual cast of sleek super spies and anthropomorphic animals. Oh, and Solid Snake.
If it's right – and Fortnite fans will likely find out on Saturday when the season-ending Big Bang event kicks off – marking the end of a years-long saga of Family man's inclusion in the Battle Royale. Data miners discovered references to Peter Griffin in 2021in what was reportedly a red herring; The developers at Epic Games were reportedly trolls Fortnite fans who liked that dig around the file structure. There was another reference to it in 2022 Family man to an official Fortnite video, alongside hints referencing Darth Vader and id Software's Doom. Vader and the Doom Slayer eventually found their way to Fortnitebut no Peter Griffin yet.
Solid Snake from Konami's Metal Gear franchise appears to be joining Peter Griffin Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1, according to artwork that reportedly appeared on the Xbox dashboard on Friday. Snake's appearance in Fortnite isn't too surprising, considering he's made guest appearances in Super Smash Bros., Monster Hunter, Scribblenauts, and Ape Escape games in the past.
Fortnite Chapter 5 season 1 starts this week. In addition to an appearance from rapper Eminem, the new chapter will reportedly introduce a new Lego-themed mode, a racing mode and a music festival.
