Fortnite won’t get a Doctor Who collaboration, says show’s executive producer: ‘It’s a complete myth, I’m afraid’
Fortnite may be packed with exciting collaborations, but according to the current one Doctor who showrunner and executive producer Russell T Davies, the rumors that the British sci-fi series would cross over with the perennially popular battle royale game are completely false.
As noted by EurogamerDavies was asked by a fan Instagram yesterday (February 11) about the alleged collaboration, to which he replied: “There is none! It’s a complete myth, I’m afraid.”
Considering how many crossovers Fortnite has, there are a lot of rumors constantly circulating about the potential TV shows, movies, anime series, and characters that are speculated to be on the way. As you’d expect, not all of these make it into the game, though, and if Davies’ statement is true, it doesn’t sound like players will be able to run around the battle royale island as The Doctor anytime soon. as ever.
That said, it’s worth noting that BBC Studios released a Doctor who-themed Creative Mode Island, which players could visit to complete challenges and repair the TARDIS. This is not created or sponsored by Fortnite developer Epic Games, however, and there were no in-game rewards like emotes, skins, or back blings to go with it, which is certainly what most fans would like to see.
Right now, inside Fortnitethe Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-themed event, “Cowabunga,” is in full swing. As well as all TMNT skins (Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo, as well as April O’Neil and Splinter) are back in the item shop, players can complete Cowabunga missions for rewards like the free Turtle Blimp Glider. There are also four new ones TMNTThemed mythical weapons – Raphael’s Sai, Leonardo’s Katanas, Donatello’s Staff and Michelangelo’s Nunchaku – available to find and use in the game.
