Epic Games has shared new details Fortnite O.G ahead of the highly anticipated release tomorrow.
Fortnite will finally return to its roots on December 6 with the addition of Fortnite O.Ga permanent game mode that takes players back to the vanilla form of the game, and was first introduced last year for a limited time.
In a new bloggingPosted today, Epic Games has revealed the details for the highly anticipated update, confirming that all the original loot, locations, and gameplay will return in Fortnite OG Chapter 1 – Season 1.
“To start, Fortnite OG will go through the original first seasons of Chapter 1, recreating those early days, right through to the loot pool changes and feature introductions,” Epic explains.
The Fortnite OG seasons will be shorter than currently in Battle Royale, so players can expect season one to end on January 31st.
While Solos, Squads, and Zero Build will be available right away, Ranked Mode will be “coming soon.”
Epic made that clear too Fortnite O.G returns to its original state, the quality of life changes made over the years will still be present.
For example, the building mechanics remain the same, and the traversal still has the latest abilities, such as sprint, slide, cloak, thru bash and healing while moving.
“Some rough edges from that era have been preserved, while others have been polished,” the developer added. “For example, you’ll find Reboot Vans and be able to see the glare of a sniper scope, but the maximum build resources are set to 999 and dual pump is enabled for Shotguns (for now).”
As previously mentioned, the original loot pool will be available, meaning that all weapons from the game from seven years ago will be accessible, such as the Assault Rifle, Burst Assault Rifle, Scoped Assault Rifle, Pump Shotgun, Tactical Shotgun, Grenade Launcher, Damage Trap , and more.
Like any new mode, Fortnite O.G will also have its own Battle Pass. This version includes 45 levels of “retro rewards with a modern twist on classic items and outfits” and players can earn Renegade Rebel, Aerial Assault Bomber and Skull Commander, with an unlockable alt style for each.
