Fortnite celebrates its “biggest day” in history with over 44 million players thanks to the return of the chapter 1 map

Fortnite broke his all-time player records on Saturday (November 4) following the launch of the nostalgia Fortnite O.G season, which has brought the classic Chapter One map back to the Battle Royale.

In a tweet posted by the official Fortnite account yesterday (November 5), the team thanked new and old players for their support, noting that it was “overwhelmed” by the response. It wrote: “A way to start things off with a big bang. We are overwhelmed by the response Fortnite O.G. Yesterday was the biggest day in Fortnite‘s history with over 44.7 MILLION players participating and 102 MILLION hours of play. To everyone Fortnite players, OG and new, THANK YOU!”

For those unfamiliar, the latest season of Fortnitetitled Fortnite O.Gstarted on Friday (November 3), with the in-game map returning to how it was in Chapter One, Season Five in 2018. This means that popular Points of Interest (POIs) like Tilted Towers and Risky Reels are back, as well as the weapons and items that were in the game at that time, such as Boogie Bombs and Shopping Carts.

However, things will change even more in the coming weeks, with different things being brought into the loot pool to reflect later seasons in the world. Fortnite Chapter one, such as the X-4 Stormwing aircraft, Jetpack, The Baller and Junk Rift. Fans can expect the next update on November 9, which will add a number of season six weapons.

This blast from the past was alluded to in the latter Fortnite season, adding a time machine to the game that displays the date “June 12, 2018” – the day Chapter One, Season Five originally began. Classic season decorations also appeared on the menu, indicating something was brewing.

It’s not clear if any of these classic card elements will be retained for next season, but for now, as the record shows, players are clearly making the most of this classic card.
