French caterer Sodexo dumped from Andrew ‘Twiggy’ Forrest’s Fortescue mine sites after workers said it served up ‘always disgusting’ inedible food

Billionaire Andrew ‘Twiggy’ Forrest has unceremoniously dumped a food caterer at his company’s mining sites over its ‘inedible’ meals.

The mining magnate’s Fortescue parted ways with French caterer Sodexo after receiving dozens of complaints from fly-in, fly-out (FIFO) workers about its food.

Fortescue informed its staff that the extension of Sodexo’s catering contract had not been extended this week.

Sodexo had previously fed workers from Fortescue’s Christmas Creek, Cloudbreak, Kantama and Nyidinghu camps in the Pilbara.

Photos of the food shared by workers online show a barely filled BLT sandwich with a slice of tomato, some tired-looking lettuce and a few small pieces of bacon.

FIFO employees told the West that the food was ‘always disgusting’.

“The food they serve is almost always disgusting, sometimes completely inedible,” said an anonymous Christmas Creek employee.

“(They) are meals I wouldn’t even feed to my pets.”

A spokeswoman for Sodexo’s Australian arm thanked Fortescue for its “partnership over the years” and added that it was “proud of our team’s service.”

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Sodexo for comment.
