Former WWE star Stan Lane has taken a second DNA rest to prove he is not the father of Colorado Congresswoman Lauren Boebert.
The mother of the Republican politician, Shawn Roberts Bentz, has long maintained that the retired wrestler was her daughter’s biological father after a brief fling in the 1980s.
Lane, 69, took a court-ordered paternity test in 1990 that revealed he was not Boebert’s father.
But questions of legitimacy arose when the lab worker who took his blood sample was convicted of taking a bribe to switch vials in another case and Bentz asked to investigate Lane.
He finally agreed to take a second test in May and the results showed he was not Rep’s father. Bobbert, 36.

Lane, who worked as an announcer for powerboat racing after his wrestling career, allowed Boebert to handle his DNA sample to allay any concerns.
The results came back on May 11 and proved that he was not her biological father.
He released a statement confirming the news through his close friend to wrestling news website PWInsider.com.
“After we both reviewed the results, Lauren and I agreed that this matter has been resolved, and I accepted Lauren’s apology on behalf of herself and her mother,” he said.
“This situation and the many false claims that have been made against me over the years have caused a lot of stress for me and my family.”
“I feel that my otherwise good reputation has been seriously tarnished. I and other close members of my inner circle have also been dragged into this.’
She acknowledged the results and shared the everyday beast: “I can confirm that Stan Lane is not my biological father.
“I personally never publicly claimed that he was my father, but the claim is certainly there.
“The Toby Keith song, ‘Who’s Your Daddy,’ hits a little differently now.”

The messy situation started early in Lane’s wrestling career when he lived in Florida and worked for Florida Championship Wrestling.

He briefly dated Bentz, and after Boebert’s birth in 1986, he claims to have received a message accusing him of being her father.
Her mother filed for child support two months after she was born and they went through the Orange County court system, according to Salon.
Lane was charged $100 a week at a time when Bentz worked full-time at a convenience store called Handy Way for what was then the minimum wage, $4 an hour.
The court then ordered him to take a paternity test, which he did in 1990 when Boebert was three years old and the results proved that he was not her father and that he was no longer required to pay child support.
But when Bentz learned how the lab worker who took Lane’s sample was convicted of changing an NFL player’s vial for $500, she petitioned the court to investigate the former wrestler.
So Lane agreed to take another one and he left the sample with Boebert so there was no doubt as to its correctness.
Lane holds no grudge against the Republican politician and wished her luck in finding her real father.
He said, “My interactions with Ms. Boebert were pleasant and enjoyable.
“I wish Lauren the very best in her future endeavours. If she continues to search for her birth father, I hope she finds the answers she’s been looking for.”
He now looks forward to putting the situation behind him and said he looks forward to stepping out of the spotlight and enjoying his retirement with his wife.
