Former winners of The Block set for a shock return to renovation show’s 2024 anniversary season
Block winners Steph and Gian return this year for the 20th anniversary of the hit show.
But a Nine insider has revealed the fan favorites will not be competing.
No details have been released about their exact roles in the show, which is about to start filming on Phillip Island in Victoria.
However Yahoo lifestyle reports that the couple, who walked away with a whopping $1.65 million last year, will have an “ongoing” role in the new series.
According to the report, participants in the 20th anniversary series will be able to access Steph’s styling expertise.

Steph, 27, an architect, will launch her new exclusive homeware brand Japandi Estate while the series is filmed.
Japandi is a unique home design aesthetic that combines both Japanese and Scandinavian styles and was used extensively for their beautiful winning property.
Meanwhile, an insider has revealed that fans can look forward to a less toxic season after last year’s explosive series saw the cast constantly fighting.

“We’re focused on having a more fun and wholesome season, but no matter who we cast, the drama always presents itself,” the source said.
It comes after infamous contestant Kristy Beames, 34, said she would love to return to the hit show.
Kristy told Yahoo Lifestyle earlier this year that if producers reached out, she would love to be back on The Block.
She added that if she makes it to the show, viewers can expect her to be even more outspoken than she was in last year’s infamous “dirty” season.

Nine has confirmed that just five teams will compete to convert five properties at the former Island Cove Villas on Phillip Island.
The Block’s producers spent a whopping $9.5 million on this year’s venue, a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Melbourne.
The property currently has nine homes, a communal swimming pool, a barbecue pavilion, a tennis court and a children’s playground.
