Former WAG Alex Pike reveals her healthy day on a plate, her only cheat meal and the major lifestyle change that keeps her fit and fabulous at 45

Former WAG Alex Pike shares the secrets behind her enviable physique.

The cosmetic nurse, 45, told Daily Mail Australia last week that it’s all about balance for her when it comes to staying healthy and in shape.

“For me, I like eggs [for breakfast],’ she revealed. “With a side of avocado, tomatoes, and if I’ve already done some cardio, I’ll have some toast too.”

Pike’s best tip is to keep her carb intake earlier in the day and focus more on lean protein around mealtime.

“I’m pretty balanced and my workday is very, very busy, so it’s really important to fuel up,” she said.

For lunch, she eats a poke bowl with rice and chicken or fish, and for dinner she focuses on lean protein with “lots of veggies.”

She’s also a big fan of celery juice, which she makes at home and has for breakfast and throughout the day if there’s any left over.

The mother of three does not deny herself the occasional cheat meal and usually enjoys an ice cream in a cone from the Monumental Ice Creamery in Albury.

Alex’s diet can be followed as part of her new eight-week kickstart program, Inside Out Beauty.

“My diet is the nutritional component of the program and consists of lean protein and a balance of carbohydrates and fats,” she said.

The former model, who turns 46 this year, has also drastically reduced her alcohol consumption in recent years, often doing sober stints for a month at a time.

“Cutting back on alcohol has definitely helped me slow down the clock,” she said, adding that she’s noticed the biggest difference in her skin since she stopped grog and now sleeps and concentrates better too.

Other tips Alex adheres to include walking “as much as possible” and drinking plenty of water, preparing meals and avoiding the use of services like Uber Eats, and getting eight hours of sleep each night.

The 45-year-old shot to fame in 2021 when she started dating AFL legend Nathan Buckley following his split from his wife of 18 years, Tania Minnici.

The couple confirmed their relationship in May of that year and had a whirlwind romance that splashed all over the media until they broke up for good in 2022.
