Former teacher Tim Walz cozies up with son of billionaire philanthropist George Soros at posh NYC home

Tim Walz shied away from his usual “regular guy” image as he hung out with the son of billionaire Democratic donor George Soros in his posh New York City apartment.

Alex Soros, the 38-year-old son of the international philanthropist, took over his father’s $25 billion empire in 2023, pledging to continue funding left-wing causes.

Walz, who may be the least wealthy person to ever run for vice president, has spent time with Soros and his wife, former Hillary Clinton adviser Huma Abedin, twice in the past month.

Soros, who has socialized with Kamala Harris in the past, couldn’t contain his excitement, writing in a social media post: “What an honor to host vice presidential candidate @timwalz at my home in New York City.”

In August, Soros declared himself “Walzified! Walzpilled!” after meeting Walz with Abedin—the ex-wife of disgraced Democratic Congressman Anthony Weiner—at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

It’s not yet clear how much Soros donated to the Harris-Walz campaign, though his donations to the Biden-Harris campaign in 2020 totaled more than $700,000, while he donated at least $5 million to Democrats in total.

Alexander was known in his younger years as a rich kid from the Hamptons who threw extravagant parties, scouted models and befriended NBA legends.

His flamboyant lifestyle and untamed antics earned him a reputation as something of a “playboy,” and he was once described as a “disgrace” within his famous family. This was in stark contrast to his father’s fierce devotion to personal privacy and his longstanding image as a serious and respected philanthropist and businessman.

It was therefore a surprise to some when he was named successor and heir to his father’s $25 billion empire.

His appointment as head of George’s Open Society Foundations (OSF) was seen as a shock decision, especially as it saw him dethrone his older and much more serious brother Jonathan in a business battle that many compared to the HBO series Succession.

But before the June 2023 announcement, Alex had been slowly transforming his image from playboy to political power figure, trading celebrity parties for powwows with influential people including Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden.

His political leanings now appear to have led him to a new milestone: a romance with Hillary Clinton’s longtime adviser and girlfriend Huma Abedin, with whom he publicly discussed his relationship on Instagram Stories on Valentine’s Day 2023, when the pair went out for a night out in Paris.

The couple got engaged in July of this year. Soros wrote: ‘This happened… we couldn’t be happier, more grateful or more in love.’

Soros and Abedin have worked with prominent Democrats such as Kamala Harris in the past

Soros, 38, took charge of his father George’s (pictured) $25 billion empire in 2023 and has made no secret of his desire to continue funding left-wing causes

Soros told the Wall Street Journal Last year, he will broaden his father’s woke goals to include other causes, such as voting rights, abortion rights and gender equality.

“I’m more political,” Alex said, comparing himself to his father. He’s visited the White House several times and met big-name Democrats.

Speaking about his goals, Alex said he was concerned about the possibility of Republican Donald Trump returning to the White House, suggesting the family would make a big contribution to the Democrats in the 2024 presidential election.

“As much as I would like to see money out of politics, as long as the other side is doing it, we’re going to have to do it too,” he said.

Soros’s nonprofit, the Open Society Foundation, already donates about $1.5 billion a year to groups that work to advance human rights and build democracies around the world, and also funds several universities.

And the family’s super PAC, Democracy PAC, supports the election campaigns of woke district attorneys and other law enforcement officials who are trying to reduce incarceration and perceived racial bias in the justice system.

Alex has said he doesn’t support every left-wing cause. Unlike many on the left, Alex said he believes free speech on campus has become too limited.

“I have some differences with my generation when it comes to freedom of speech and other issues,” he said.

Alex also regularly posts photos of himself with Democratic politicians, including Nancy Pelosi, Barack Obama and Sen. Chuck Schumer — whom he called a “good friend.”

Since 2021, he has also been listed in White House logs at least a dozen times.

Alex has called on Democrats to better articulate their message to broaden the party’s appeal, saying: ‘Our party needs to become more patriotic and inclusive.

“Just because someone votes for Trump doesn’t mean they’re lost or racist.”

George said of Alex’s appointment: ‘He deserved it.’

George made his billions as a hedge fund magnate in the United Kingdom. His Open Society Foundation and related nonprofits have donated more than $42 billion worldwide.

Soros has also invested millions of dollars in liberal prosecutors, either through direct donations or through political action committees, effectively buying elections and appointing at least 75 prosecutors who support his leftist agenda.

He spent at least $40 million on the project, Matt Palumbo, author of The Man Behind the Curtain: Inside the Secret Network of George Soros, wrote in the New York Post – a minuscule amount for a man with a fortune of at least $32 billion.

It marks a change in tone from his father, who has typically kept a lower profile and wielded influence through donations to liberal causes. He is pictured with Pelosi, left, and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttgieg, right.

Billionaire prosecutors have abolished bail laws and chosen not to prosecute crimes like theft and reckless driving, effectively giving criminals a free pass and causing law and order in the United States to collapse.

As a direct result, crime has skyrocketed in major cities overseen by Soros’s prosecutors. In 2021, under Kim Foxx, Chicago had the most murders since 1994. And Philadelphia has seen an increase in drug use and violent crime since Larry Krasner took office.

Trump frequently accuses George of funding Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg and suggests he bears some blame for the case that revolved around a $130,000 hush-money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels. Trump was eventually convicted on all 34 charges.

George donated $1 million in 2021 to the left-wing political action committee Color of Change, which supported Bragg.

His son’s meeting with Minnesota Governor and vice presidential candidate Walz is seen as a contrast, as the campaign and Walz himself have tried to portray him as a “regular guy” who tinkers with cars and loves football.

At 60, Walz is approaching retirement age, but he may be the least wealthy vice presidential candidate in modern history, despite having had plenty of opportunities to grow his fortune.

The bulk of Walz’s accumulated wealth consists almost entirely of state, military and federal pensions, supplemented by taxpayer-funded contributions.

And while a lack of money is certainly no barrier to high office, some critics are now openly questioning whether former schoolteacher and football coach Walz is the right man to be within a heartbeat of the White House.
