Former Real Housewives of New York star Alex McCord gives fans an update on his life in Australia as he reveals another major career milestone since leaving the hit show.
Former Real Housewives of New York star Alex McCord has updated fans on new life in Australia.
The reality star, who was a founding member of the reality series Bravo, shared a photo with her husband, Simon van Kempen.
Taking to Instagram, Alex said the couple had enjoyed a run around Brisbane, close to their adopted home of Byron Bay.

“Run early at night on Brissy’s to work up an appetite for dinner. Love that light,” Alex wrote, standing in front of the Story Bridge.
Alex, who has a cult following on the show and was popular with viewers, was inundated with comments from loyal fans.
“They look fabulous, I miss them both at Housewives of New York,” wrote one fan.
Alex, who has since delved into academia, later shared a photo of herself holding a peer-reviewed journal article.

Alex was a founding cast member of the Real Housewives of New York City, which starred her Australian husband Simon van Kempen from season one to season four.
The fourth season of RHONY aired in 2011 and was followed by a dramatic cast shakeup that led to the firing of several cast members.
Four years later, Alex and Simon moved from New York to Australia, settling in the Byron Bay region of coastal New South Wales.

While his wife was studying for a master’s degree in psychology, Simon also studied law, graduating from Southern Cross University in 2020.
The couple celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary in May 2020.
Alex hasn’t appeared on the small screen since her 2017 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, alongside former co-star Ramona Singer.

She said she was no longer watching the Housewives franchise at the time but was still friends with former co-star Jill Zarin, whom she described as a “great pen pal”.
Alex worked as a visual merchandiser for Victoria’s Secret while in the Big Apple, attending lavish parties and doing luxury shopping.
She said it was Brooklyn’s smorgasbord of activities that she missed the most after her sea change Down Under.
‘[I miss] the ability to walk outside your door and find things. Now we have to drive,” she said of living in Australia.
But he didn’t regret his new lifestyle, adding: “It’s basically like living in the Hamptons all year.”
