Former Neighbours star Matty Wilson admits he ‘doesn’t like’ soap operas

A former Neighbors star has made a surprising confession about working on soap operas.

Ramsay Street favorite Matt Wilson revealed in an interview with Yahoo on Tuesday: “I’ll probably get shot for saying this, but I’m not a big fan of soap operas.”

The confession may come as a surprise to fans, as 34-year-old Aaron Brennan starred in Neighbors from 2015 until the series was discontinued earlier this year.

“It’s just too much drama, I guess,” he added with a laugh.

“One day you’re crying, yelling, you’ve got so much going on. It’s so dramatic!’

Matt also revealed that he won’t be joining the cast of Home and Away anytime soon, despite growing up watching the Channel Seven soap.

While Aaron is looking for new acting opportunities, he eagerly awaits the birth of his second child.

Matt is now a partner of WWF Australia, the conservation organization helping to raise awareness about endangered species

He and his wife Jessica married in 2019 and welcomed their first child in February 2021.

Elsewhere in the chat, Matt spoke about his new role as a partner of the conservation organization WWF Australia.

The WWF has just launched an interactive tool called My Backyard that helps users learn about local species in danger of extinction.

“Once everyone can express their wish to protect the planet, things will happen,” he said.

Matt made history with Neighbors when his character Aaron married David Tanaka, played by actor Takaya Honda, in Australia’s first gay marriage.

The characters married on the show in 2018, a year after same-sex marriage was legalized in Australia in 2017.

Matt and wife Jessica married in 2019 and welcomed their first child in February 2021
