Former Mormon reveals shocking theory about why so many members of the church end up as INFLUENCERS
A former Mormon woman has laid out her fascinating theory about why so many members of the church become influencers.
Alyssa Grenfell31, grew up in an extremely strict family, but escaped the strict lifestyle and began focusing on getting her body back in her late 20s, after moving from Utah to New York in 2017.
The former member of the Mormon church has since been sharing tidbits about her transformation and her journey to freedom.
Alyssa recently took to YouTube to share her shocking suspicions about why church members including Taylor Frankie Paul, Rachel Parcell and Hannah Neeleman are becoming social media sensations.
She explained that she believed the church, also known as The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was “sponsoring influencers through travel and meals,” adding that the organization was “moving money around the term Mormon.”

Alyssa Grenfell, 31, grew up in an extremely strict family but escaped the oppressive lifestyle and began focusing on getting her body back
In a clip titled “Why Are There So Many Mormon Influencers,” Alyssa debunked her theory.
She first addressed the most common explanation, which is that Mormons like to keep a journal.
“One of the most common reasons for this phenomenon is that Mormon girls like to keep a journal,” Alyssa says.
She explained that most Mormon women look pretty much the same and that they are the ideal women.
‘Are [made up] of white and blonde women,’ she added.
Alyssa indicated that she had another theory as to why so many members became social media stars.
“I don’t think it’s because Mormons are so good at journaling, it’s because they have the support of a church that has been able to invest millions of dollars in them,” she claimed.
This is how the Mormon church pays influencers in Utah and how the church pays them without realizing where the money is coming from.
Recently, Alyssa took to YouTube to reveal her shocking suspicion about why church members have become social media sensations
She claimed she believed the church was funneling money into the search term Mormon, helping to sponsor these influencers.
She claimed the church didn’t want people to know they were sponsoring these influencers (Taylor Frankie Paul left and Hannah Neeleman right)
‘The church sponsors influencers through trips and meals, not money, so they don’t leave the church and then talk badly about it.
“They fly influencers to private events, pay for flights, hotel rooms, food. So they pay their expenses, but they don’t get any financial compensation for the content that they post.”
She claimed the church didn’t want people to find out they were sponsoring these influencers because current members would be furious that their money was going to social media icons.
“The church needs to figure out a way to get money into the hands of these influencers without it becoming a PR nightmare,” Alyssa said.
The former member said she believed the church was using targeted advertising and throwing money at Google to discreetly support the influencers.
“I believe the organization is investing money in the term Mormon,” she said.
The church pays Google money to make sure you see an ad about the Mormon church.
‘The cost per click for the term Mormon is $24.71. Mormon missionaries cost $31.81.’
However, Alyssa has not provided any evidence that the Mormon church pays for advertising. Furthermore, anyone can pay for a Google ad.
The former Mormon member has since shared tidbits about her transformation, including the first time she wore a tank top
Alyssa (pictured at age 28 when she first wore a bikini) has previously spoken openly about her glow-up after leaving the church and the truth about ‘Mormon face’
Alyssa shared that Utah influencers made twice as much money as social media stars in New York and Los Angeles thanks to these targeted ads.
She claimed that the purpose of the church was to attract more people to church.
By making people more aware through advertising, the number of people who come to church increases.
Alyssa explained that this is why the church has been okay with supporting corrupt Mormon influencers who have faced scandals, like Taylor, who made headlines after she reportedly went on a drunken rampage and was arrested for throwing a chair at her boyfriend.
In her clip, the former Mormon claimed that while Taylor didn’t represent the ideal member of the church, it still drove people toward it.
She said at the end of the clip: ‘Despite Taylor Frankie Paul not being the “perfect Mormon” the church wants to represent, she’s still doing well because she’s bringing in a lot of advertising revenue that Google AdSense will use to find new converts.
‘Because people are familiar with the church, they know they are more likely to become a member.’
DailyMail.com has contacted The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Taylor for comment.
