How To Recreate McDonald’s Onions AT HOME

What you need:

Chopped onions, hot water, a mason jar and a paper towel

Method:

  • Put chopped onions in a pot filled with hot water and leave for 15 minutes
  • Use kitchen paper to drain the onions

“Once you have that, you need some hot water. Hold on, I’m getting mine hot. Once you have hot water, go ahead and pour the chopped onions into the hot water. That’s what we’re going to do. Okay, just what the desired amount is.

“You just leave that for 15 minutes… Okay, it’s been 15 minutes now. We’re going to suck that mess dry.’

Kim uses paper towels to drain the jar.

‘We’re just going to get as much water out as possible. This is exactly how McDonald’s is, to be honest,” she explained.

“Now you’ve got your whole jar of deliciousness, enjoy.”

Below her video, onion aficionados flooded her comment section, saying they were “very grateful” and very “grateful” for the tasty hack.

Kim’s clip has been viewed over a million times and has nearly 60,000 likes.

Another ex-fast food worker confirmed the process in the comments section, saying, “And she’s not lying!” Signed by a former McDonald’s employee.’

A second employee added, “I also worked at McDonald’s and had to rehydrate the onions as well, and I still love these onions, and I don’t know why.”
