A former Manchester United player has reportedly turned down the chance to become Inter Miami's next big signing.
The MLS side have already announced their latest addition to their ranks by signing former Liverpool and Barcelona star Luis Suarez, who worked alongside his good friend Lionel Messi at David Beckham's team.
It has been a busy year for Miami, who have made a string of high-profile signings including Argentina's World Cup hero Messi and his former Barcelona teammates Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba.
And after the arrival of Suarez, who came over on a free transfer from Brazilian side Gremio last week, coach Tata Martino turned his focus to a defensive asset.
He is said to have personally called his compatriot in an attempt to persuade him to move to the United States, but the defender rejected the move.

Marcos Rojo reportedly rejected Miami after a call from boss Tata Martino (R)
Marcos Rojo – who plays for Argentina's Boca Juniors – is said to have rejected the offer.
The report adds that Rojo told his boss Juan Roman Riquelme that he would remain at the club until his contract expires in 2025, the newspaper said. Marca.
It is further said that Rojo has also rejected interest from Brazilian side Palmeiras.
The Boca hierarchy have reportedly assured Rojo that they will build a team that can be competitive this season even though they have failed to qualify for South America's major tournament, the Copa Libertadores.
Rojo joined Boca in 2021 and has made 59 appearances, winning three trophies so far, including the league title and the Argentine Super Cup.
Rojo, now 33, will be best remembered for his seven-year spell at Man United, during which he made 122 appearances, scored twice and won a string of trophies. During his time at Old Trafford he won the FA Cup, Carabao Cup, Community Shield and Europa League.
However, he soon began to fall out of favor at Old Trafford as he made just eight Premier League appearances in his final two seasons before being loaned out to Argentinian side Estudiantes before joining Boca permanently a year later.
