Former Love Island host Laura Whitmore reveals her close friend has passed away after battling stage four cancer

TV presenter Laura Whitmore has revealed that her close friend has passed away.

The ex-Love Island host, 38, announced that her photographer boyfriend Jay McLaughlin had passed away after a battle with stage four cancer.

Laura shared a tribute on social media on Thursday, along with a picture of Jay and some photos he took of her.

She wrote, “I have spoken a lot about my friend @jaymclaughlin_irl, a very talented photographer, and his account @jaymclaughlin_irl documenting his life with stage 4 cancer.

“Unfortunately we lost Jay. We prepared for the worst, but you never fully understand.

“He’s been a part of and photographed so many stages of my life – shoots, BTS, headshots, birthdays… not to mention our shared love of Star Wars.

“I know he was in a lot of pain towards the end, so I hope he is free of the limitations his body had on him.

“Rest in power, he was a force I am eternally grateful to have known.”

A large number of her celebrity friends took to the comment section to offer their condolences.
