Kamil Grabara’s wife explained that she has received hundreds of death threats from Galatasaray supporters after her husband and former Liverpool goalkeeper Kamil Grabara described the Turkish team’s stadium as a ‘s***hole’.
The ex-Reds stopper was involved in the Champions League group stages on Tuesday, with Galatasaray scoring twice late in the match and salvaging a point from the European encounter.
In a masterclass on how not to endear yourself to a bunch of rival fans, Polish stopper Grabara took to Instagram after the match and wrote: ‘I deserved all three points from that damn hole, but such is life, we go further.’
After a predictable response, he edited the post to ‘s*** game’, but not before his comments caused a stir on social media.
Dominika Robak posted an image in response to a threatening message she received after the match and captioned a story update: “Last night I received over 300 obituaries, this is not normal.”

Grabara, 24, who spent five years at Liverpool between 2016 and 2021 but did not feature in the first team, conceded two late goals as Galatasaray fought back to draw 2-2.
As Manchester United started their Champions League season with a 4-3 defeat to Bayern Munich, the other match in Group A proved to be a highly entertaining match.
Grabara was forced to make a number of saves as Galatasaray dominated the opening match in front of a typically passionate crowd at Rams Park.
But against the style of play, Copenhagen took a surprise lead through Mohamed Elyounoussi after 35 minutes and doubled their lead through Diogo Goncalves after 58 minutes.
However, the Danish team came under control again after Elias Jelert was sent off with 17 minutes to go.
Sacha Boey halved the deficit with four to play, before Grabara was beaten again when Tete equalized for the Turkish side a few minutes later.
Grabara has been Copenhagen’s regular number 1 for the past two seasons after leaving Liverpool for them in 2021. He will join German club Wolfsburg next summer.
Galatasaray next travel to Old Trafford on October 3, while Copenhagen host Bayern.
Grabara’s comments will no doubt ensure he receives a fiery reception from the traveling Galatasaray fans when they visit Parken Stadium on December 12.
