  • A former janitor said you should never use the first bathroom stall because it’s dirty
  • He also said that you should visit the stalls on the left and avoid the disability option.

A janitor has revealed the secrets to finding the cleanest public bathroom, and the one bathroom you should never visit.

Jennifer Cullison, 26, learned the three secrets of the bathroom by working as a janitor for two years and studying for a PhD in human behavior.

The American student advised her followers to never use the first bathroom, always visit the cubicles on the left and avoid using a disabled bathroom.

“I’m going to tell you which stalls in a bathroom are used the least and therefore are the cleanest,” Jennifer said.

He explained that he used to perform hourly checks on the toilets and change the toilet paper to see which stalls were used the most.

“I’m also a doctoral student in anthropology, so I study human behavior,” he added.

He said the “most important thing” to keep in mind in public restrooms is that the first stalls are the dirtiest and most used.

“Go to the stall furthest from the bathroom door because people usually go into the first couple of stalls,” Jennifer advised.

The ones in the back, especially in large bathrooms, are never used.

His second piece of advice is that if the bathroom has compartments lining both sides, it should ‘always’ go to the left, as everyone else is more likely to go to the right.

“If there are stalls on both sides of the bathroom, you want to go to the left because most people go to the right,” he explained.

“I think that might have to do with a left-handed and right-handed thing.”

The three things you should never do in a public bathroom:

1. Never go to the bathroom closest to the entrance, use the furthest cubicle

2. Never go to the cubicles to the right of the bathroom, always turn left

3. Never use a handicap stall

His final advice is to avoid handicap stalls at all costs, as it may prevent someone who really needs it from using it.

The woman explained that most adults don’t use them, but kids love novelties and go straight to the stalls.

Jennifer’s followers were very appreciative of the tips, which they said answered questions they had thought about for years.

“Thank you so much for this information, I think of this literally every time I’m in a public restroom and I always choose the second furthest in the back,” said one woman.

However, some people wondered if everyone could be using the back, since they assume everyone uses the first post.

Have I read otherwise? That most people avoid the first and second positions because they feel they are the most used? I give up,” one woman commented.
