Former intelligence chief admits ‘significant’ parts of Hunter Biden’s laptop ‘had to be REAL’

A former intelligence official who signed the infamous letter claiming Hunter Biden’s laptop bore the markings of Russian disinformation now says a “significant portion” of the documents found “had to be real.”

Still, Douglas Wise, a former deputy director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, said the aussie he did not regret signing the October 2020 letter from 51 former intelligence officials who doubted the authenticity of the laptop.

Wise explained: “All of us thought that a significant part of that content had to be real to make any Russian disinformation credible.”

He also said he was “not surprised” when the laptop, which Hunter had left at a Delaware repair shop before the owner turned it over to the FBI and then-Donald Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani, was authenticated.

DailyMail.com authenticated the laptop in 2021, mainstream outlets like CBS, the Washington Post, and the New York Times followed suit in 2022.

Douglas Wise, former deputy director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, told The Australian he has no regrets signing the October 2020 letter from 51 former intelligence officials who doubted the authenticity of the laptop.

The first son’s laptop contained lewd photos documenting his drug-fuelled binges, details of his shady international business dealings, and emails in which Hunter appeared to be selling access to his father, then vice president. Above are Joe Biden, Beau Biden, Hunter’s son, and Hunter on July 4, 2022.

Wise downplayed the influence of the letter, which the White House at the time promoted and used as a cover to play on the possibility that the laptop could be the work of the Russians.

‘The letter said it had the hallmarks of a Russian hoax and we should consider that as a possibility; It wasn’t saying Hunter Biden was a nice guy, it wasn’t saying what he did was right and not exculpatory, it was just a warning letter.’

He continued: “I don’t regret signing it because the context is important.”

“Remember that Giuliani had just been in the Ukraine trying to find evidence on the Bidens and met with a well-known Russian intelligence officer,” he said, apparently referring to pro-Moscow Ukrainian politician Andriy Derkach.

The letter came five days after the New York Post first reported on the contents of the laptop, which contained lewd photos documenting Hunter’s drug-fueled sprees, details of his shady international dealings and emails in which Hunter appeared to be selling access to his then vice president. dad.

Wise added that the laptop’s ‘chain of custody’ could have left it open to compromise.

“Russians or even conservative elements with bad intentions could have planted things there,” he said.

The letter, also signed by former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, former national intelligence director James Clapper and former CIA director John Brennan, says there are “factors that make us suspicious of Russian involvement.”

“The arrival on the American political scene of emails purportedly belonging to Vice President Biden’s son Hunter, largely related to his time as a member of the board of directors of the Ukrainian gas company Burisma, has all the classic hallmarks of an operation of Russian information”. Two page letter read.

Images like the one above were found on the laptop after Hunter dropped it off at a Delaware computer repair shop.

Hunter Biden’s search history reveals an obsession with pornography that includes fantasies of incest, ’18 years old’, ‘lonely widow’, ‘MILF crack cocaine porn’, as well as instructions on how to hack a lover’s cell phone and repeated Google searches of himself.

“We want to emphasize that we don’t know if the emails…are genuine or not and that we have no evidence of Russian involvement,” he continued.

The letter also references “our view that the Russians are involved in the Hunter Biden email affair” and concludes, “I am very pleased that Russia is stopping interfering in our democracy.”

The laptop bomb was originally restricted on platforms like Twitter and Facebook. Details of his decision to restrict news that could harm Biden just before the election leaked through the release of Elon Musk’s Twitter files.

Wise’s comments come as House Republicans target the Biden family. The House Oversight Committee last week launched an investigation into the Biden family’s business dealings and how much Joe was involved in Hunter’s work.

The Republicans also established the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, which is expected to investigate reports that the FBI made slow progress in its investigation into the laptop revelations and pressured Twitter to censor the story.
