Former GOP chair’s wife Bridget Ziegler breaks silence on threesome sex scandal as she refuses to step down from school board job and says ‘sexual orientation’ has nothing to do with her work

The wife of Florida’s former GOP chairman has broken her silence on the trio sex scandal – after refusing to resign from her job on the school board.

Bridget Ziegler, 41, faced hours of public scrutiny on Tuesday night, with people calling on her to quit after her husband was accused of raping a woman they were in a relationship with.

Christian was acquitted of the rape charge last month, but police are now trying to charge him with illegally filming the sexual encounter he had.

Bridget, who has thus far remained silent about the scandal, faced a four-to-one vote in December to remove her from the Sarasota County Schools Board. She has refused to resign.

She still sits on Gov. Ron DeSantis’ Disney World oversight board — and she has said in the past that the scandal was brought up at some point during meetings there.

Bridget Ziegler sidestepped the issue Tuesday night, but later said during the meeting, “I truly believe that specifically regarding sexual orientation and whatever has no place in the comments above. Personal lives, families, all of it.”

She has been accused of hypocrisy for engaging in bisexual acts during a threesome with another woman and her husband, while also being an outspoken leader of anti-LGBTQ policies.

Ziegler told the Sarasota County Schools Board Tuesday night, “I know it’s been a long night and I want to thank the staff again for hanging in there. I wanted to mention a few things that came up in public commentary.

“I’m going to keep this very tight for many reasons and a lot of the conversations that come up during public comment I will never discuss in these rooms because it has absolutely nothing to do with my role as a board member.

“There is a lot of deliberate speculation and taking things out of context, but when it comes to public comment, I agree with Mr. Edwards. And I would actually like to compliment the chairman today, because it is very difficult to chair these meetings.’

Speaking about her role on the committee, she said: “I have taken many arrows, I know my colleagues here have too, it is not comfortable, but I also want to applaud Mrs Rose for her attempt to increase decorum, because we have important work.

‘We’re doing great things. “I have been on this board for almost ten years and I can say again that the progress that has occurred over the last three to six months has been incredible.”

She said she will “defend” the public’s right to speak, adding: “I know there’s a hot-button issue right now, but I know there’s been a lot before December and the emotions high and so it makes it very challenging to navigate through that.’

Ziegler referenced an incident that occurred in March 2022, when another board member, who is gay, was accused by someone of being a child groomer.

Ziegler, 40, was dismissed from his party chairmanship in January after being accused of raping a woman who had previously joined him and his wife Bridget (left) for sex.

She said on Tuesday: ‘I really believe that specifically sexual orientation and whatever has no place in the comments here. Personal lives, families, all of it.

“But I also accept the fact that as elected officials we expose ourselves to incredible criticism, but as an individual I absolutely reject that.

‘When we enter into policy discussions. There is a lot of hyperbole and rhetoric in the newspaper or on social media.

“I don’t want anyone to be afraid, I don’t want anyone in our district to feel that we provide anything other than a fair, safe and tolerant environment where everyone can learn, and that doesn’t just mean learning. and work.

“As you can hear, there are a lot of people who don’t think this is the case.”

This follows news that Christian Ziegler told his wife to hunt for a threesome partner and had a list of multiple women’s names on his phone titled ‘THE LIST’, including his rape accuser with the subtitle ‘F***’ , police claim in new documents.

The 40-year-old was ousted from the party chairmanship in January after being accused of raping a woman who had previously joined him and his wife Bridget for sex, allegations he denies.

He had his first sexual encounter with his rape accuser in 2021 and had a list of women’s names, including the accuser under the word “F***,” according to new police data.

Documents show Ziegler and his wife, co-founder of Moms for Liberty, discussing the woman who accused him of rape in text messages while Bridget expressed concern for her well-being.

Sarasota police have dropped sexual assault charges against him but have referred a video voyeurism case to prosecutors over a clip he allegedly recorded of his alleged victim.

Ziegler faced fierce accusations from a woman who said he raped her after she canceled plans to have sex with him and his wife Bridget.

Detectives found a document on his phone called “THE LIST” and it contained the names of several women.

According to police records, his accuser was tagged with the subtitle “F***.”

Bridget told the police officers that she had previously had a threesome with the rape accuser and her husband.

Text messages from February 2021 show Ziegler telling his wife to “come home, stop and pick up (a woman) to play and be silly again.”

It is believed he was referring to the alleged victim who he claimed was ‘an alcoholic, a nice person with some problems’.

But Bridget replied that she was concerned the woman was ‘going through some s***’ and ‘that she prefers confident, powerful people’.

Ms. Ziegler stands next to Ron DeSantis

The documents stated that Ziegler said he liked that the woman was “close and there was no drama to turn him on.”

“I just don’t want to feel like we’re ever taking advantage of anyone (I know it’s always been consensual), but she seems… ‘broken’ or like she’s going through some shit,” Bridget said.

“I don’t know – that’s the vibe I get from her – and my nature is more likely to help her than… you know.”

Ziegler then suggested they “look for someone new,” police said, later telling his wife that the alleged victim “thinks she’s hot, and he believes she’s just into her.”

The accuser told police she had planned a threesome with the Zieglers the day she was raped, but backed out.

“Sorry I was especially out to get her,” she messaged Ziegler, but she told police he showed up at her home anyway and attacked her.

Police records show Ziegler told detectives he had had sex with the accuser “about a dozen times since they met” and that they had had a threesome with his wife twice at their home.

But the alleged victim told officers that he “had been sexually assaulting her for years and she never felt like she could say no to him.”

She added that he once climbed through an unlocked window at her home.

Detectives first spoke to Ziegler last year, and he conducted Google searches on his phone surrounding their investigation, including “Medium Sexual Battery Settlement,” “Instagram Vanish Summons,” and “Accused of Sexual Battery and Fired.”
