A former France international is reportedly due to stand trial next month for sexual abuse.

Wissam Ben Yedder, who has played 19 international matches for Les Bleus, has been accused of sexually assaulting a young woman in south-eastern France over the weekend, according to The team.

The former Sevilla and Monaco striker was reportedly arrested at around 3am while driving under the influence.

He is not allowed to leave the Alpes-Maritimes region, has a curfew from 8pm to 6am, is not allowed to visit bars or clubs and is not allowed to approach his alleged victim. He must also report to a police station twice a week until his trial.

According to a French news agency The teamthe 34-year-old will appear in court on October 15.

He was brought before the judge on Sunday afternoon. He was given a summons for ‘sexual assault while clearly intoxicated, refusing to cooperate and driving under the influence of alcohol’.

The striker last played an international match in June 2022.

Although he has reportedly been in the sights of English giants such as Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal over the years, he has played his entire career in France and Spain.
