Former Fox News host’s stunning condemnation of Trump goes viral as star renounces MAGA beliefs
Former Fox News host Geraldo Rivera has condemned former President Donald Trump in a blistering message calling him a loser while supporting Kamala Harris.
Rivera took to X, formerly Twitter, to share a lengthy statement slamming his former friend Trump for his unwillingness to accept the results of the 2020 election.
“Former President Trump is a sore loser who cannot be trusted to uphold the Constitution,” the veteran journalist wrote on Monday.
“That’s why I’m voting for Kamala Harris as our 47th president.”
Geraldo recalled that Trump was a “loyal friend” to him during his presidency, which he called “underappreciated.”

But he noted that the two have not spoken since a phone call in November 2020 — just days after Joe Biden won the election.
Rivera said Trump assured him he would acknowledge the election results, but he was disappointed when the Republican never did so.
“When I reported on Fox News that same morning, Friday the 13th, he told me he was a reasonable man and that he would do the right thing when that time came,” Rivera wrote.
‘That never happened. Instead, President Trump began an increasingly menacing campaign to discredit the 2020 election.”
Rivera added, “If you are a Republican, Donald Trump has made you a liar.
“He has persuaded and intimidated tens of millions of people into pretending that he was re-elected in 2020 and that the election was stolen.
The journalist then accused Trump of inciting a violent attack on the country’s “center of democracy.”
“While his followers destroyed that sacred space, on the phone he urged Vice President Mike Pence to overthrow the will of the American people,” Rivera continued.
“Pence refused to put Trump above the Constitution. Trump has stabbed the Constitution in the back.”
Rivera concluded that those who decide to vote for Trump over immigration or tax cuts are “buying into his big lie.”
“You justify voting for Trump, buying into his big lie about the stolen election makes you a liar,” he wrote.
In the past, Rivera has been friends with Trump and even said he supported the former president, adding that he did not “endorse” him.
“I support the president, but I don’t support the president… he doesn’t always listen to my advice,” Rivera told PEOPLE in 2020, as noted by Newsweek.
“But I’m honored that the President of the United States, the most powerful person on earth, is listening to one [guy] that has been on television for half a century.’

However, Rivera’s view of Trump changed after the 2020 election.
In 2023, he told The View that he would spend “all the energy I have left in the profession to ensure he is never re-elected president.”
During the same interview, Rivera said he and Trump had been close for decades.
Rivera has also gone after Trump for his anti-immigrant rhetoric, especially after Republicans claimed migrants were “poisoning the blood of our country.”
The commenter branded the comment “disgusting” in a post on immigrants transmit diseases. .’
In a video post, Rivera continued: “That is a quote – an extraordinary, hateful Hitler-esque quote from the former President of the United States. That’s shocking. It’s outrageous.

‘It harkens back to the mid-19th century, when Irish immigrants were accused of bringing all kinds of diseases from Europe to the United States.
“It’s one of the reasons they were hated by people, and by each successive wave of immigrants: the Italians, the Chinese, the Jews, the Eastern Europeans.
‘Now the Latin Americans are always accused of bringing diseases, a fact that is absolutely not true. If you look at the people, the largely Latino people who come to this country without papers, they walk ten hundred miles.
“How many Americans could walk fifteen hundred miles, walk through jungles and cross rivers and so on, in search of a better life for themselves and their children?
“To just… and think this man was my friend. That’s shocking. I’m so ashamed. President Trump, former president, could say something like “poisoning the blood of our country.” That is absolutely indefensible. It’s disgusting.’
