Former Carlton star Anthony Franchina has put his five-bedroom home in Brighton East on the market.

Franchina, 46, enjoyed a 105-game career with the Blues before winning multiple premierships at suburban football club Diamond Creek alongside the likes of Dane Swan and Brendan Fevola.

Aaron Edwards and Daniel Harris have also represented the team.

Franchina’s home has proven to be a hit with former team-mates, with Anthony Koutoufides and Simon Wiggans dropping by at the $2.7 million to $2.85 million property at 2A Marriage Road.

The spacious open plan living area is so large that Franchina and his son – who plays cricket with Matthew Lloyd’s son at the local club – play indoor cricket and footy together.

The five-bedroom Brighton East home features ample outdoor space

“There are a few ex-AFL players around,” Franchina told Realestate.

“My son and I have played football and cricket indoors.

“Every shot in the wall is out, and the same goes for the furniture. We call it the Big Block League instead of the Big Bash.”

The house makes a huge first impression, with visitors greeted by a spiral staircase in the entrance hall.

The house has a large swimming pool and Franchina has also set up a fitness room in the billiard room.

Located a stone’s throw from the beach, it is the ideal home for those with an active lifestyle.

There is a large kitchen in the open plan living area and a second BBQ kitchen is located outside.

Unsurprisingly, the ad has already attracted a number of inspections, especially families with children.

Potential buyers are attracted to the property’s size, outdoor entertainment options and zoning for good schools.

Franchina’s house will be auctioned on February 15 at 6:30 PM.
