‘Mbappe, Mbappe, Mbappe, ooohhh’: Former England striker Daniel Sturridge bizarrely bursts into song as he waxes lyrical about the in-form French striker, supporting him to win the World Cup Golden Boot
Euro 2016 contest winner Daniel Sturridge produced again, but this time in a very different way, when he bizarrely broke into a song about Kylian Mbappé during an interview.
The former England international is backing the Frenchman to win the Golden Boot at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar following his impressive start to the tournament.
The PSG striker is currently the joint top scorer with three goals alongside Ecuador’s Enner Valencia.

26-cap England striker Sturridge was full of praise for the forward in form, although his interview turned very bizarre when he started chanting Mbappé’s name in the middle of his interview.
Sturridge said Sky Sports via Football Daily: ‘For me, he [Kylian Mbappe] the Golden Shoe wins, he is a special player.
“Just his abilities, the runs he makes. He always shoots, which is always important.

“People don’t look at that statistic very often, but the more you shoot, the more goals you score.
“I think he puts himself in positions to score goals and he creates his own goals to score.”
However, his song will be what everyone is talking about instead of his statement about Mbappe as he sang ‘Mbappe, Mbappe, Mbappe, ooohhh.’
This interview is unbelievable just six years after Sturridge briefly became a hero for the Three Lions in helping them seal a 2-1 comeback against Wales.

The 33-year-old came off the bench at half-time to set up Jamie Vardy for the equalizer before scoring the winning goal in stoppage time to avoid a group stage shock.
Sturridge’s career went downhill since that game as he struggled with injuries at Liverpool until they eventually loaned him to West Brom before he returned to Anfield.
He was subsequently released before having spells with Turkey’s Trabzonspor and Australia’s Perth Glory.
