Former English football captain Bryan Robson was involved in a car accident on Saturday afternoon on his way to former club Manchester United’s victory over Everton.
The 66-year-old United legend was driving his £84,000 blue Mercedes S350d to Old Trafford when he was hit from behind by another vehicle.
The collision caused damage to the trunk and bumper of Robson’s car, and police had to close one lane while debris was cleared off the road at Princes Parkway. Sports mail understands that Robson is okay despite the shock.
Robson, who was on his way to the game as part of his role as club ambassador, stood on the grass embankment, dressed in the official colors of the Manchester United suit, hugging a young boy and talking to police.
No injuries appeared to have occurred in the incident and Robson was later seen at the game, where his former side beat Everton 2–0 to sustain their bid to finish in the top four of the Premier League.

A spectator told The sun“I didn’t see the other vehicle involved, but it looks like his car was hit from behind.
“There was quite a bit of damage to the Mercedes and part of the bumper was hanging off.”
No comment has been made by Greater Manchester Police, who said they would not comment on minor traffic accidents.
Nicknamed ‘Captain Marvel’ in his playing time, Robson made 470 appearances and scored 103 goals during a glorious 13-year spell at United before joining Middlesbrough, West Bromwich Albion and Sheffield United.
He played in three World Cups for the Three Lions in an England career that saw him earn 90 caps and score 26 times for his country – including his 26-second strike against France at the 1982 World Cup, still the fastest World Cup goal scored by an English player.
His last managerial role was as Thailand boss in 2011, and he has since continued his role as official club ambassador for his former club.
