A former Dunkin’ barista has left the internet stunned after revealing the insane amount of sugar contained in the flavorings used in the popular iced coffee drinks.
Ryan Tatum, from Florida, used TikTok to issue a stark warning about consumers’ daily caffeine routine.
She claimed that when she was at chain t. workedhere was “33 grams of sugar per pump” swirl – which she said added up quickly.
The content creator was soon inundated with comments from ‘heartbroken’ fans of the drinks, with one complaining: ‘Why would you tell me this?’

She claimed that when she worked at the chain, there was ’33 grams of sugar per pump’ swirl – which she said quickly added up
In the clip, which has been viewed more than 130,000 times to date, Ryan spoke directly into the camera as she sipped a Dunkin’ iced coffee from her car.
She began, “If I am to be burdened with this information, then you need to know it too.
“I see more and more people getting a Dunkin’ iced coffee, and I see all these recipes, and I absolutely love them because I’m a Dunkin’ stan.”
“But like As a former employee, I feel it is my right and duty to tell you that all of their swirls contain 33 grams of sugar per pump.
‘The standard is two pumps for small, three pumps for medium and four pumps for large.’
Elaborating further, Ryan presented: “If you get a medium caramel iced coffee – not counting the milk and extra sugar they put in – you automatically get 100 grams of sugar (technically 99).
“I came across this information because one summer they were having their 99 cent happy hours – where you can get an iced coffee for 99 cents from 3pm to 6pm.
‘I got one every day. I tell you every day, and I was still working at Dunkin’ at the time.
In the clip, which has been viewed more than 130,000 times to date, Ryan spoke directly into the camera as she sipped a Dunkin’ iced coffee from her car.
“At the end of that summer I gained 10 pounds and I thought, ‘Wow, what happened here? All I did was get coffee.’
“That the next time I went to work, I turned over that nutrition label and saw with my own eyes that one pump contained 33 grams of sugar.”
Ryan added: ‘According to their website it doesn’t have that much sugar in it, so the recipe may have changed.
“But as far as I know, each pump of the swirls contains 33 grams of sugar.”
The former Dunkin’ employee concluded, “IThe reason you don’t like Dunkin’ iced coffee is because it’s too sweet, which is exactly why there is so much sugar in their coffee.
“Just ask for one pump of the swirl, or they have other flavors, like other coffee shops, that have a lot less sugar.”
“So do what you want with that information and enjoy your coffee.”
Ryan’s video was quickly flooded with comments, as many viewers rushed to share their shock at the amount of sugar they were unknowingly consuming.

Ryan replied, “I worked there almost ten years ago, so my information is a little outdated! Now it is about 12 grams per pump, but 36 grams for a medium is still almost the same as a soft drink.’

Ryan replied, “100 percent!! Drinking every day was not in moderation. I treated myself every day.’
According to Dunkin’s nutrition guidea small Caramel Swirl Iced Coffee has a total of 26 sugars, a medium 38 and a large 51.

A small French Vanilla Swirl Iced Coffee has a total of 24 sugars, a medium has 37 and a large has 49.
But this isn’t the first time customers have been shocked by the amount of sugar consumed with one Dunkin drink.
The brand’s seasonal Pumpkin Swirl Frozen Coffee contains the same amount of sugar as 14 glazed donuts, or 46 teaspoons of sugar.
According to the American Heart Association, men should consume less than a daily limit of nine teaspoons, 36 grams, or 150 calories of sugar.
Women should consume less than a daily limit of six teaspoons, 25 grams, or 100 calories.
