A child prodigy who sang for the Pope, Charlotte Church amassed a fortune of £25 million at the age of 11.

But 27 years later, the Welsh singer has confessed her fortune is gone.

In an interview, Ms Church, now 38, said: ‘I’m not a millionaire anymore’ after being forced to sell her £1.5million mansion to downsize to a semi-detached home.

She also reflected on fame during her teenage years, revealing that it was her adopted father, James Church, who pushed her to stay in the spotlight she hated so much.

The mother-of-three said: “When I was making money, at the age of 14 I said to my father, ‘I’m not sure about this showbiz stuff. I’m not really having a good time,’ and he was like, “Just keep at it because we’re not going to get these opportunities.”

Mrs Church didn’t access her fortune until she was 18, but when she finally did, the singer didn’t hold back and said she would buy a £1million ruby-encrusted bra for the occasion.

It made Ms Church spend big and she spent more than £10,000 on a trip to Ibiza, where her friends paid for a private villa, bought all their drinks and hired a personal driver.

While dating Welsh rugby star Gavin Henson, she bought a house in Cardiff worth £500,000 at the age of 20 and installed a bar at the bottom to enjoy drinking sessions with her boyfriend.
