Swindon, who cannot make the play-offs, have one game left this season and will face Crawley Town next Monday.

In his final game, Swindon took the lead against Crewe but eventually lost 2–1 after two late goals.

Morris’ assistant Ed Brand has also left Swindon.
A statement on Swindon’s official website read: ‘Swindon Town can confirm today that it has parted ways with first-team head coach Jody Morris and his assistant Ed Brand.
Morris, 44, was appointed to what was his first senior management role in the game at the end of January, and was later followed by assistant Ed Brand to the County Ground in early March.
“We would like to thank both Jody and Ed for their contribution and efforts since joining the football club and wish them all the very best for the future.
Swindon opted to sack Morris after missing out on a League Two play-off place
Our aim when they took over was to persevere and finish the second half of the season strong, but as a club we have not achieved our objectives.
“With only one league game to go before we reach the end of the season, we feel now is the right time to take a new approach to achieving success at this great club for 2023/24.
“Work is well underway to find our next manager, with an announcement in due course.”
Morris was previously assistant manager to Frank Lampard at both Derby County and Chelsea
Steve Mildenhall and Gavin Gunning will be in charge of Swindon for the game against Crawley.
Morris played for Chelsea and Leeds during his playing career and after his retirement he returned to Chelsea as a youth coach, where he enjoyed great success.
He then became an assistant to his former Chelsea teammate Frank Lampard at Derby before taking up a similar position at Stamford Bridge.
