Former Channel Seven star Andrew O’Keefe is charged again- just months after his latest court appearance

Disgraced former Channel Seven personality Andrew O’Keefe has found himself in trouble with the law again after he was allegedly caught driving while his licence had been suspended.

The former Deal No or No Deal and The Chase Australia presenter was reportedly spotted behind the wheel by NSW Police highway patrol officers in the upmarket suburb of Bellevue Hill in Sydney’s east on June 20.

O’Keefe, 52, was given a summons to appear in court for the offence of driving while suspended, The Daily Telegraph reported.

The former TV star will appear in Downing Centre Court on August 6.

The latest charges against O’Keefe come just six months after he was found guilty of multiple domestic violence and drug offenses.

The former presenter was charged with three counts, including assault occasioning actual bodily harm, breaching a domestic violence order and possessing 1.6 grams of the synthetic stimulant mephedrone, commonly known as ‘meow meow’, following a violent confrontation with a woman in September 2021.

He was sentenced to 12 months of community service and three 18-month community service sentences.

O’Keefe told reporters outside the court that he planned to appeal the convictions.

He has since filed an appeal with the New South Wales District Court, with a hearing scheduled for July 31.

A year earlier, O’Keefe had pleaded guilty to drug driving after testing positive for methamphetamine in Point Piper in January 2023. However, he was given a 12-month conditional release without conviction for good behavior.

The latest offence is just the latest in a long line of sad scandals for O’Keefe, who was once one of Australia’s most popular television presenters.

The former lawyer was once president of White Ribbon Australia, an organisation dedicated to preventing violence against women. He was even appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for his extensive television and charity work.

O’Keefe has fallen out of public favor in recent years, serving time in prison and rehab after a series of scandals.
