- Ex-NRL star Teui Robati will face trial in July on two counts of rape
- Charges relate to alleged attack on woman at Fortitude Valley bar
- Robati has previously denied attacking the woman
Former NRL player Teui ‘TC’ Robati is due to appear in court in July on two counts of rape.
The charges relate to an alleged assault on a woman at a bar in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley on December 21, 2022.
Mr Robati, 22, has not yet entered a formal plea in court but has previously denied the charges.
He remains free on bail and was not required to attend when the matter was briefly discussed ahead of his trial in Brisbane District Court on Tuesday.
Mr Robati is due to appear in court on July 22 for a four-day trial.
In February, Judge Paul Smith granted a request to allow the alleged victim to be considered a special witness.
The woman will pre-record her testimony and be questioned by Mr Robati’s lawyer prior to the trial.

The court may appoint a special witness if there is a significant likelihood that someone who is called upon to testify will suffer serious emotional trauma or be so intimidated that he or she will be at a disadvantage as a witness.
After being charged, the New Zealand-born rugby league player was sacked by the Brisbane Broncos in February 2023, before the NRL season even started.
Robati made his NRL debut in 2021 and has appeared in 17 NRL games. He also represented the Maori All Stars in 2022.
