Former boxing world champion Krzysztof Glowacki scores a sensational one-punch KO on his MMA debut

Former WBO cruiserweight champion Krzysztof made an exciting start to his MMA career at KSW Colosseum 2 on Saturday.

Making his debut in the cage against 1-0 fighter Patryk Tolkaczewski, Glowacki immediately found his primary tools seemingly nullified as Tolkaczewksi secured an early takedown.

The 36-year-old’s lack of grappling experience seemed to be his undoing as his opponent passed his guard in the mounted position and started raining down strikes.

Instead of trying to work his way into a more favorable position, the left-handed Glowacki released his left hand from under the mountain and made a clean connection with Tolkaczewksi’s jaw.

Tolkaczewksi sank to top position immediately after being hit, and Glowacki seized the initiative to roll over his opponent and land a follow-up shot before the referee stepped in to stop the fight.

The former WBO champion caught his opponent with a centimeter-perfect left hand as he was being ridden

After making his professional boxing debut in 2008, Glowacki amassed an unbeaten record of 26-0 to win the WBO title, defeating former world champions Richard Hall, Marco Huck and Steve Cunningham in the process.

However, the Polish fighter would be dethroned by Oleksandr Usyk in 2016 and defeated by Lawrence Okolie in 2021 in a bid to regain the title.

Glowacki last competed in the squared circle in January, where he was stopped in the fourth round by former British cruiserweight champion Richard Riakporhe.

The KSW event was headlined by a trilogy between former UFC fighter Scott Askham and Mamed Khalidov, with the British fighter coming to a rubber match defeat via flying knee knockout in the third round.
