Former Block star Jess Eva’s Triple M breakfast show AXED out of the blue with just one day’s notice

Jess Eva’s Triple M breakfast radio show with Mark ‘MG’ Geyer and Chris Page has been canceled with one day’s notice.

The former Block star announced on Thursday that The MG, Jess & Pagey show will not take place next year and that Friday is the ‘final show’.

Pagey already announced his departure from the breakfast show in October to pursue other opportunities outside of radio.

Jess clarified that she and MG will not be out of work and will still be part of the ‘Triple M family’.

“Tomorrow is all about reflection,” MG told listeners. “Tomorrow will be all about the year we’ve had together.”

An emotional Jess then addressed MG and co-host Cat Lynch, who has been filling in since Paget left.

‘I just adore you. At the end of the day… If you can come here to a breakfast show and pick up some soul mates and then roll back out and have a glass of wine, how good is it to be alive?’

In October, Pagey surprised listeners by announcing that he would be leaving the station at the end of the year.

On their Triple M show, the host said that after more than a decade with the network, it was time for something different.

“Sometimes you can do the same thing for too long,” he began.

He joked that he doesn’t have to get up at 4 a.m. every day for his next role.

An emotional Pagey said he formed a close bond with his colleagues at Triple M that would last a lifetime.

“If you can roll in here for a breakfast show and pick up some soul mates and then roll out and have a glass of wine, how good is life?” That’s what Jess told listeners on Thursday

“I love this radio station and all the people who work here. It’s a family,’ he said.

A statement from SCA confirmed the decision shortly after its announcement.

“After a career spanning nearly two decades with SCA, Triple M’s Chris ‘Pagey’ Page has announced his departure from Triple M Sydney,” the release began.

Pagey began his radio career in 2003 with NXFM in Newcastle, then moved to Triple M Adelaide, before 2Day FM’s Hot 30 evening show brought him back to Sydney.

In 2010, Pagey joined Triple M Sydney, anchoring a daring breakfast radio experiment called The Grill Team, which featured household names from the NRL world. He has stayed on Triple M Sydney’s Breakfast show, most recently as an anchor on MG, Jess and Pagey and has become a beloved member of the Triple M family.

“Pagey will be opting out of the Triple M Breakfast show for the last time on Friday, December 2, as he pursues his interests outside of radio.”

Pagey co-hosts the station’s popular Triple M Breakfast With MG, Jess & Pagey show.

He has gone through some major life changes in recent years.

Last year, he revealed he was finally sober after spending a month in an alcohol addiction facility.
