Former BBC Breakfast star Louise Minchin replaced Lorraine on the show on Thursday.
Fans flocked to Twitter during the program to praise the presenter, who quit her long-running role on BBC Breakfast after almost two decades on the show in 2021.
Lorraine is regularly absent from the show, with Ranvir Singh and Christine Lampard acting as regular stand-ins for the presenter, but in October Louise made her debut as a presenter following her move from BBC to ITV.
As well as the praise for Louise, viewers were left grumbling about Lorraine's absence. So the star's insistence on avoiding her role doesn't deserve the show's eponymous title.
Twitter users wrote: 'I think someone should make a graph or something like that of how many times Lorraine has presented her show this year compared to other presenters. I really think others have presented it more than her #lorraine…

'No, sorry I don't have it! How can a TV host have a show named after him but never show up for work? Lorraine Kelly is a disgrace! The show is hosted by everyone except the work-shy Lorraine. It needs to be renamed at this point!…
'She got away with it for far too long… Why is 'Lorraine' called 'Lorraine'? She's never on the show… I need as much annual leave as Lorraine.
When Louise quit BBC Breakfast in 2021, she explained: 'I've loved being part of it, but I've decided it's time for me to stop setting my alarm for 3.40am – sometimes when I feeling very rebellious. 46 hours in the morning – and I'm leaving…
'That won't be the case for a while, and above all I would like to thank everyone who watched for your loyalty and support over all these years. I absolutely loved being a part of that…
'I'll really miss it. But now it's time to stop that early morning alarm, and also thank you for watching all these years.”
In October, around the time of Louise's first guest appearance, Lorraine was criticized for taking half a week off, despite having an adult daughter.
Fans of the ITV morning show pointed out that Christine Lampard was a guest presenter, even though she has two young children, Patricia, five, and Freddie, two.
An ITV spokesperson confirmed to MailOnline last week: 'Lorraine is now off for half the term and will be back on Monday November 6.'
Louise appeared on the show on both Wednesday and Thursday
Fans wondered why Lorraine was off instead of Christine, with one token on Twitter: 'Why is Lorraine off for six months, she has no school aged children…
'It's half term, which means the woman with a 28 year old is taking a week off and the woman with toy kids is doing her show!…
'So Christine Lampard, who has young children, steps in and hosts Lorraine during the break so Lorraine Kelly can have a holiday too. Her daughter is 29. She and Susanna Reid both feel entitled…
'Oh yeah. Lorraine is on holiday for half the school year, despite the fact that her daughter has not been to school for twenty years, but is replaced by someone with school-age children. The usual pointless move.”

Elsewhere in the show, Andi Peters was left red-faced when he accidentally called the presenter Christine Bleakley, her maiden name, instead of Lampard.
Christine, 44, is a doting mother to her two children, Patricia, five, and Freddie, two, who she shares with her husband Frank Lampard.
Lorraine, 63, shares daughter Rosie, 28, with her husband Steve, who she married in 1992.
