Lehmann is said to have drunk beer mugs (a large beer mug) during festivities in Munich on Sunday, where he was attending the Bavarian Beer Festival.

He was also reportedly seen dancing on benches in the Schutzenfest tent and wearing traditional Bavarian clothing.

A source told The Sun: ‘There will be police officers walking around Oktoberfest to prevent drink driving.’

Chief Public Prosecutor Anne Leiding said: ‘Mr Lehmann was stopped by the police at around 1:30 a.m. on September 23, 2024, because of his unusual driving behavior in a car in the center of Munich.’

She added: ‘Police reportedly detected a strong odour of alcohol and there was an unsafe atmosphere.

‘A breathalyzer test did not produce any useful results, so a blood test was ordered and the driver’s license was confiscated.

“Our investigations are ongoing. Suspicions of drunk driving remain.”

Lehmann is believed to be a regular visitor to the festival. He was photographed at the festivities with Didier Drogba in 2011 and with Invincibles teammate Sol Campbell in 2012.
