Elsewhere in the chat, Karina said she was enjoying being back in Melbourne after being based there while working at ABC News Breakfast.
“I probably shouldn’t mention the ABC, but it was so funny talking to some of my friends from there because you don’t really realize there’s life after the ABC,” she joked.
She also said she has enjoyed trips to esteemed sporting events such as Test cricket and the Australian Open during the summer holidays.
“Even on Boxing Day I would read the 6pm news, but during the day I would come into the cricket and just be exposed to all these different experiences,” she said.
It comes next Karina revealed in December 2023 that she had quit her job as a presenter of the ABC News channel after 17 years in the broadcaster.
