A forgotten Liverpool player was spotted during Jurgen Klopp’s farewell speech after his side formed the guard of honor at the end of his final game.
Klopp took a big bow after a 2-0 win against Wolves and emerged after the whistle to deliver one final emotional message to the Anfield crowd.
His players had lined up on either side of the tunnel so that Klopp and his outgoing backroom staff could walk through and receive a rapturous reception from the supporters.
Younger first-team members such as Jayden Danns and Conor Bradley were also in attendance after playing their part in Klopp’s swan song campaign.
Most of the club’s loan contingent were not at the ceremony, but there was one exception: Nathaniel Phillips stood next to Klopp during the ceremony.

Phillips made 17 appearances during the 2020/21 season after Klopp was hit by a crippling injury crisis at centre-back and led the Reds to Champions League qualification.
He has made just two league appearances since then and was sent out on loan.
Bournemouth and Celtic both brought in Phillips on a temporary basis and the towering centre-back spent the second half of the 2023/24 season in Cardiff.
With the regular Championship year ending earlier than the Premier League, Phillips was able to attend the ceremony and pay his respects to Klopp.
Phillips, who was left out of Liverpool’s top-flight squad, impressed during his time in Wales and is keen to stay at the club next season.

‘I have two [years on my contract] actually at Liverpool,” he said via WalesOnline. ‘There’s a lot of change going on at Liverpool, so there’s a lot up in the air.
‘They have a lot to arrange themselves. I would definitely consider a return to Cardiff. I really enjoyed it here and enjoyed playing regularly.
‘I just want to keep playing football and enjoy my football.
‘Every time you change clubs there is a lot up in the air. I’ve done it a few times with loans, so I’d say I’m more used to it than some people.”
